#30607 libgdiplus needs dependency on libxslt macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by david.r.klein@…, 4 years ago.

Description

Hello,

During sudo port install mono libgdiplus2.6.7 fails to build, looks to be caused by libxslt though.

:info:build ld: in /opt/local/lib/libxslt.1.dylib, file was built for unsupported file format which is not the architecture being linked (i386) for architecture i386
:info:build collect2: ld returned 1 exit status.
Error: Failed to install libgdiplus.

Workaround

sudo port clean libgdiplus
sudo port upgrade --enforce-variants cairo +universal
sudo port upgrade --enforce-variants libxslt +universal
sudo port upgrade --enforce-variants libgdiplus +universal
sudo port install mono

See error log for details.

#30613 ffmpeg 0.7.1 fails to build on a Yonah (ie 32bit) XCode 4.0 machine devans@… defect Normal ports

Reported by macports@…, 4 years ago.

Description

Attempting to build ffmpeg-0.7.1 eventually results in an error :info:build fatal error: error in backend: Ran out of registers during register allocation! while trying to compile libavcodec/h264_cabac.c (Presumably this occurs when trying to compile the huge function at the bottom of that file.)

Possible fixes might be to attempt to compile that single file as -O2 rather than -O3, or to allow some of forced inline functions to not be inline.

Details are: This is a Yonah Macbook (MacBook1,1 Core Duo, NOT Core 2 Duo) Running OSX 10.6.8. Compiling using XCode 4.0. For obvious reasons, this machine will not be moving on to 10.7 and XCode 4.1.

I've attached the build log.

#30621 fcron won't shut down compconsultant@… defect Normal ports

Reported by thewolf167@…, 4 years ago.

Description

I have fcron @3.0.4_0 installed on both my MBP and iMac running OS X 10.7 (Lion) with Macports 2.0.1. fcron will not shut down in response to either of these commands:

  sudo port unload fcron
  sudo launchctl /Library/Launchdaemons/unload org.macports.plist

The daemondo process for fcron does shut down, but the "fcron -b" process continues to run, regardless of whether fcron is actually running any jobs.

#30627 octave-devel crashes on mismatched matrix dimensions michaelld@… defect Normal ports

Reported by jmrosenstock@…, 4 years ago.

Description

I reported this to octave: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.php?33943

They think something with catching exceptions isn't right with the macports configuration, perhaps related to exception handling.

"The xgemm function is part of Octave (liboctave/dMatrix.cc). When it detects a dimension mismatch, it calls gripe_nonconformant (liboctave/lo-array-gripes.cc). That function calls an error handler using the function pointer current_liboctave_error_with_id_handler. Normally, that is set to lo_error_with_id_handler (set in the function initialize_error_handlers in src/octave.cc). That function ultimately calls octave_throw_execution_exception (libcruft/misc/quit.cc) which ultimately throws a C++ exception which should be caught in the main_loop function (src/toplev.cc). I'd guess the abort is happening because the exception is not caught as it should be."

GNU Octave, version 3.4.2
Octave was configured for "i386-apple-darwin9.8.0".

#30628 C compiler cannot create executables under Lion macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by whittaker007@…, 4 years ago.

Description

I am a long time user of Macports, and when I upgraded my existing installation everything seemed to be working until I tried to install a new port and got the "C compiler cannot create executables" error. I was able to run selfupdate, but upgrade outdated failed with the same error.

I decided to start from scratch, uninstalled and cleaned all my ports, downloaded the latest Xcode package from the Apple App Store and installed it, then downloaded the latest MacPorts installer for Lion from the website, and installed that.

All seemed to go OK until I tried to install my first port under the new installation, and it fails with the above error again. Here's what I get:

Don't know if it's a Lion problem, but I think it crops up when one first installs the boost port and then LyX. Please find attached patches that attempt to address the issue. In short, building against the boost makes things work again. Since my C++ is poor, I have little hope of debugging the "src/support/environment.cpp" file. Perhaps someone can explain why such simple code fails.

#30630 Patch to update version of lmms, plus get zynaddsubfx working macports-tickets@… update Normal ports

Reported by davmp@…, 4 years ago.

Description

Just got a new mid-2011 MBA and tried to install lmms through MacPorts only to find that zynaddsubfx wasn't working, and the port was a couple releases behind. The attached proposal of an update to the lmms portfile resolves both issues, at least on Lion / 10.7 (which is the only version I have access to.)

  • Portfile diff was generated via 'diff -u <old> <new>'.
  • No longer uses old source patchfile 'patch-disable-zynaddsubfx.diff'
  • Adds new source patchfile 'patch-zynaddsubfx-CMakeLists.txt.diff'

It isn't clear to me whether relying on 'devel' version of fltk is acceptable policy here, but since the only other version of fltk (1.10) won't build on x86_64 / Lion, that's what I had to do so far.

#30638 perl5 portgroup: resolve version ambiguity with subports macports-tickets@… enhancement Normal ports

Reported by jmr@…, 4 years ago.

Description

Currently, perl modules are built against whatever version of perl happens to be linked to ${prefix}/bin/perl. This causes much confusion and is incompatible with prebuilt binaries.

Attached is a proposed change. It takes a similar approach to the new unified python portgroup, creating several p5.X-foo ports from each p5-foo portfile. This way, p5.X-foo is known to be built against perl5.X. The p5-foo port itself becomes a metaport that pulls in one of the specific versions.

#30639 sshfs does not work on Lion dports@… defect Normal ports

Reported by fxn@…, 4 years ago.

Description

I just did a clean install of Lion, and with a fresh new machine installed MacPorts and sshfs. The port successfully builds and installs, in particular its macfuse dependency.

But mounting a filesystem throws this error message:

cauchy:~ fxn$ sshfs fxn@172.16.132.128:. prj/rails
fxn@172.16.132.128's password:
/Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/Support/fusefs.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) requested architecture/executable not found; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).
the MacFUSE file system is not available (71)

Is there any workaround to that?

#30647 rpm52: buggy perl5_* and python* variants macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by blair@…, 4 years ago.

Description

The port has these for build dependencies:

depends_build           port:expat port:neon \
                        port:python25 port:perl5.8 \
                        port:readline port:beecrypt \
                        port:libiconv port:gettext

But the perl and python variants modify the library dependencies:

variant perl5_12 description { use perl 5.12 instead of perl 5.8 } {
        depends_lib-delete      port:perl5.8
        depends_lib-append      port:perl5.12
...

I think the variants should all have depends_lib replaced with depends_build.

Let me know and I can commit this change.

I saw this because I had only perl 5.12 on my system and even with the variant, it was building perl 5.8.

Description

The classes provided by the SOAP PHP extension are not available on cgi, but are available in the command line binary. Both are using the same php.ini. The soap extension shows in the phpinfo() for the command line, but not fastcgi. php throws no errors in fastcgi until i try to instantiate a class provided by the SOAP extensions. I recompiled both php5 and php5-soap. I am running the following versions:

php5 @5.3.6_0+fastcgi+pear
php5-soap @5.3.6_0
lighttpd @1.4.28_0+cml+ssl

Could the SOAP extension not be compiling for the fastcgi binary?

Let me know if I can provide any further information.

#30668 Gperf 3.0.4 - OS Lion - universal binary error? macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by will.pearse@…, 4 years ago.

Description

Hello,

I've been trying to get this to work for a while, but after some debugging, the most helpful output I can get is the following:

sudo port install gperf
Error: Requested variants "" do not match original selection "+universal".
Please use the same variants again, perform 'port clean gperf' or specify the force option (-f).
Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.

If I install from fresh, like this:

sudo port install gperf
--->  Fetching archive for gperf
--->  Attempting to fetch gperf-3.0.4_2.darwin_11.x86_64.tbz2 from http://packages.macports.org/gperf
--->  Fetching gperf
--->  Verifying checksum(s) for gperf
--->  Extracting gperf
--->  Applying patches to gperf
--->  Configuring gperf
--->  Building gperf
--->  Staging gperf into destroot
--->  Installing gperf @3.0.4_2
--->  Activating gperf @3.0.4_2
--->  Cleaning gperf

...it works fine, so presumably it's something to do with the universal binaries. I've seen a few other tickets related to this - unless this is something very strange I'm doing, could this be a general bug? I'm on a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro, with XCode 4.1 installed.

Thanks very much!

#30669 blitz-devel @0.10 Request for new portfile inclusion macports-tickets@… submission Normal ports

Reported by andre.dos.anjos@…, 4 years ago.

Description

I have written and tested a portfile that will install the latest version of blitz++ (from its mercurial repository) available. Blitz++ is a great library, but the current existing version, for which there exists a portfile (math/blitz), is very old and does not compile with more recent versions of gcc. This would allow developers to continue using blitz and upgrade their compile support, w/o touching people that would like to stick with the official version of blitz++.

Would it be possible to have it included in the distribution?

#30701 rsnapshot: switch to depending on port:perl5 mww@… enhancement Normal ports

Reported by ecronin@…, 4 years ago.

Description

rsnapshot doesn't build any perl modules, it just needs a perl to use for make and then a perl to use in the shebangs, which could/should be the one provided by the perl5 metaport.

Also, none of the perl scripts in examples currently have correct shebangs and use either /usr/bin/perl or /usr/bin/env perl (although they have other hardcoded path issues and missing perl modle deps as well so this is only a partial fix)

#30702 py27-ipython: No module named Shell akitada@… defect Normal ports

Reported by njbutko@…, 4 years ago.

Description

I recently installed py27-ipython. On starting it, I receive the following error:

$ /opt/local/bin/ipython-2.7
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/opt/local/bin/ipython-2.7", line 27, in <module>
    import IPython.Shell
ImportError: No module named Shell

Googling, I found: https://github.com/ipython/ipython/issues/286

This suggests that the ipython-2.7 script itself is out of date.

Replacing

import IPython.Shell
IPython.Shell.start().mainloop()

with

import IPython
IPython.embed()

in /opt/local/bin/ipython-2.7 seems to fix the problem, and give a normal ipython shell.

In the process, this will also upgrade py26-spyder to 2.0.12, add some useful dependencies, and correctly locate pylint-X.Y (and correctly parse its output.)

#30723 port install gcc46 +gfortran +universal (failed during build on Mac OS X 10.7 lion) macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by annacegu@…, 4 years ago.

Description

Hi,

I am not able to build using the following command: port install gcc46 +gfortran +universal

This is on a recently purchased MacBook Pro, with OS X 10.7 lion.

This is part of the main.log file generated, it's too large to copy in its entirety: (/opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_lang_gcc46/gcc46/main.log)

:info:build make[6]: Entering directory `/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_lang_gcc46/gcc46/work/build/gcc'

Please help... I have tried compiling gcc & gfortran myself and it's an uphill battle... I would like it done by macports instead.

Regards, Anna.
