#30718 p5-time-y2038: build hangs macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by jmr@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The 10.6/x86_64 buildbot slave times out (no output for 20 minutes) building this port. I've had to make it just fail early for now.

#30719 xmlresume2x @0.1.0 Checksum error macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by macports@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hi, I'm trying to install XMLResume2X on Lion but I get a checksum error.

A closer look at the log seems to indicate the file cannot be fetched.

I tried downloading it manually on macports.org but I couldn't find it there either.

Is this port no longer available? Should it simply be deleted from the port list?

#30720 Use unified py-spyder portfile to supply py26-spyder macports-tickets@… enhancement Normal ports

Reported by eborisch@…, 3 years ago.

Description

This ticket serves as a request for the current maintainer of py26-spyder to do this, and to (optionally) take ownership of py-spyder.

This entails deleting py26-spyder and modifying py-spyder to include 26 in its python.versions line in addition to 25 and 27. (Currently commented out.)

In the process, this will also upgrade py26-spyder to 2.0.12, add some useful dependencies, and correctly locate pylint-X.Y (and correctly parse its output.)

#30723 port install gcc46 +gfortran +universal (failed during build on Mac OS X 10.7 lion) macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by annacegu@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hi,

I am not able to build using the following command: port install gcc46 +gfortran +universal

This is on a recently purchased MacBook Pro, with OS X 10.7 lion.

This is part of the main.log file generated, it's too large to copy in its entirety: (/opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_lang_gcc46/gcc46/main.log)

Please help... I have tried compiling gcc & gfortran myself and it's an uphill battle... I would like it done by macports instead.

Regards, Anna.

#30728 epspdf does not work after latest texlive updates dports@… defect Normal ports

Reported by wchan212@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I recently did a sudo port update outated -- which also updated my texlive-pictures package and my epspdf stops working.

I get this error.

/opt/local/bin/epspdf:81:in `require': no such file to load -- epspdfrc (LoadError)
	from /opt/local/bin/epspdf:81

I am not familiar w/ Ruby... but taking a look @ /opt/local/bin/epspdf:81

Then going to /opt/local and do a find . -name 'epspdfrc' ... I found nothing... looks like someone forgot to include that file into the macport?

My machine is a 2007 MacMini with a 1.66 GHx Intel Core Duo running OS-X 10.6.8. I have done a clean install of XCode 3.2.6 and MacPorts 2.0.1. I have been totally unable to get anything to install with MacPorts. For example, the command:

#30737 octave-devel: error: 'CGDisplayBitsPerPixel' was not declared in this scope michaelld@… defect Normal ports

Reported by liamg@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I tried installing octave-devel on an OSX 10.7 machine both before and after the Portfile mods of 8/12/2011. It failed with the same error both times:

:info:build display.cc:73:46: error: 'CGDisplayBitsPerPixel' was not declared in this scope

The log file is over 10 MB long so I just attached the last partl I wasn't sure how much to include so I'll send more if necessary. I'm using Macports 2.01 on a MacBook Air. I installed octave-devel on my iMac under Snow Leopard and it still works under Lion.

#30738 vnStat @ 1.10 > Please update to current 1.11 and.damore@… update Normal ports

Reported by bitmail@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hello,

I'd like to request an update for MacPorts vnStat from version 1.10 to the current 1.11.

Changelog:

1.11 / 1-Jun-11

 - Fix: Memory allocation was miscalculated when creating interface list from
/sys/class/net when /proc/net/dev wasn't available which in turn could
   crash the daemon
 - Fix: Daemon database cache could remain empty after a -HUP signal
 - Fix: Don't make temp directory in vnstat.cgi writable for everyone
 - Import GNU/kFreeBSD support from Debian
(#608963, patch by Mats Erik Andersson)
 - Remove usage of GNU only '-D' option for install for BSD in Makefile
 - The daemon now automatically creates databases for available interfaces
if no databases are found during startup

Thanks!

#30739 selfupdate should not run portindex when base is outdated macports-tickets@… defect Normal MacPorts 2.0.2 base

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

selfupdate syncs the ports tree and then builds the new version of MacPorts. Which means that you've got a new ports tree, full of ports that have new MacPorts 2.0 commands, trying to be parsed by MacPorts 1.9.2, failing, generating tons of errors while trying to build the new portindex:

Adding port textproc/xercesc3
Failed to parse file textproc/xmlcatmgr/Portfile: invalid command name "installs_libs"
Adding port textproc/xmlresume2x
Failed to parse file textproc/xmlto/Portfile: invalid command name "installs_libs"
Adding port www/ZendFramework

selfupdate should first update base, then sync the ports tree with that new version of base. Or if it's not possible to relaunch itself, then it should exit after updating base and tell the user to run selfupdate again.

#30742 Spyder 2.0.12 Embedded Docs fix macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Description

The embedded docs will not launch from within spyder. The developer discovered the problem and it's quite simple: they forgot to add the file protocol

to the URL pointing to index.html, so the MacOS didn't know how to handle it. I'm attaching a patch for affected spyder ports.

#30745 xdvipdfmx not able to use /System/Library/*.dfont fonts, freetype --with-old-mac-fonts involved dports@… defect Normal ports

Reported by pguyot@…, 3 years ago.

Description

xdvipdfmx (port texlive-bin) is tricked into believing it is not configured on a Mac. The reason is that it needs FreeType function FT_GetFilePath_From_Mac_ATS_Name, which is only provided with FreeType 2.4.6 if configured with --with-old-mac-fonts.

As a result, xdvipdfmx cannot work with MacOS-specific font files, including both old (resource-based) fonts and new (data-fork based) fonts, such as /System/Library/*.dfont (e.g. Helvetica and Helvetica Neue in 10.6.8).

FreeType is no longer compiled with --with-old-mac-fonts since r42513 because of bug #15909.

If the conflict with gd2 is still present, we could make this a variant of freetype. If it is not, I believe we should provide freetype with-old-mac-fonts by default as we used to.

Attached are conservative diffs with a variant for freetype and texlive-bin.

#30746 molmol doesn't display graphical widgets under Lion macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by howarth@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The molmol program doesn't display its widgets or menus under Lion. This issue looks identical to the problems seen in [MacPorts] #21835: molmol 2k2.0 when the package was originally submitted. At that time, a batch of xorg updates in MacPorts either fixed that problem or it just went latent. Note that this issue occurs both against the X11 from Lion as well as the Xquartz 2.7.0 beta1. It occurs with the MacPorts xorg packages as well as under fink with the Lion X11 packages.

#30759 app portgroup ryandesign@… request Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Create an "app" portgroup, to create an application in ${applications_dir}, optionally with an icon. (Currently we copy blocks of code into portfiles to do this, for example r82472.)

The portgroup should expose a number of options, including:

  • app.name (the name that will appear in the Finder; default computed based on ${name} (for example, if ${name} is all lowercase, use [string totitle ${name}], otherwise use ${name})
  • app.executable (the executable to run; default ${name}; can be absolute path within ${destroot} or relative (to ${prefix}/bin) in which case a symlink to it is made, or can be absolute path in ${worksrcpath} or ${filespath} in which case it is copied and used directly)
  • app.icon (the icns file to use; default empty; can be set to an existing icns file, or any other graphics file that makeicns can turn into an icns file)
  • app.identifier (a valid CFBundleIdentifier; default computed based on ${homepage} and ${app.name})

#30768 qt4-mac fails with clang++ macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by bgrupe@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hi,

when building qt4-mac with clang++ it fails. The default setting for XCode 4.2 was recently changed to use clang/clang++ so after XCode 4.2 final is released more people will encounter this problem.

The qt4-mac port uses some gccisms with precompiled header files and clang++ thus fails.

Please explicitly change the use of the compiler to llvm-g++-4.2 for this port.

If no MacPorts gcc is selected, the build of p5-sgml-parser-opensp succeeds.

$ sudo port select --set gcc none
Selecting 'none' for 'gcc' succeeded. 'none' is now active.

$ port select --show gcc
The currently selected version for 'gcc' is 'none'.
$ g++ --version

...
$ sudo port -vs install p5-sgml-parser-opensp

I suggest the correct build of p5-sgml-parser-opensp should not depend on which gcc I have selected as my default.

Mac OS X 10.6.8, Xcode 3.2.6.

#30778 science/xmedcon sysgcc variant breaks portfile jameskyle@… defect Normal ports

Reported by rmstonecipher@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The sysgcc variant exists solely to allow +universal building; variants selected by default conflict with +universal in a manner which breaks the portfile entirely for users with +universal in variants.conf.

I would propose deleting the sysgcc variant and making the following substitution in the logic which currently fails to resolve the conflict between +universal and default behavior:

   -if {![variant_isset gcc43] && ![variant_isset sysgcc]} {
   +if {![variant_isset gcc43] && ![variant_isset universal]} {

Reported by carsomyr@…, 3 years ago.

#30782 efte: update to 1.1 reiffert@… update Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Here is a patch that makes the following changes to the efte port:

  • update efte to 1.1
  • use bzip2 distfile because it is smaller
  • change no_x11 variant to x11 variant; retain compatibility code to ease upgrades
  • use the cmake portgroup
  • add ncurses dependency
  • change the X dependencies to library dependencies
  • use rmd160 and sha256 checksums for distfile
  • use system's new -W argument

The problem is it fails in the post-destroot block; the cefte program does not seem to exist anymore. I don't know what it did in efte 0.96 so I don't know whether this post-destroot block needs to be changed in some way or just deleted.

  • Specify license (GPL2)

The complete build log is attached. This port previously built on Snow Leopard. The build failure appears to have been introduced by r82092 (#30378) to fix a build problem on Lion.

I could not tell from #30378 what was the conflict with the CVS getline function on Lion. If the intent of r82092 was to rename CVS's internal getline function to something else, and have CVS use its own getline function, I've attached a new patch-getline file that does that, and also builds on Snow Leopard. I don't have a Lion system, so I have not tested the suggested new patch on Lion.

#30786 netclasses-framework: update to 1.06 bfulgham@… update Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The attached patch makes the following changes to netclasses-framework:

  • update to 1.06
  • rewrite homepage and master_sites to avoid redirects
  • actually use bzip2 distfile as had originally been intended
  • use rmd160 and sha256 checksums
  • use frameworks_dir

I think it's actually wish 8.5.0 that crashes but it's only xcircuit that I run that uses the tcl/tk framework and wish. I've copied in the last people to post port files for xcircuit, and tcl/tk. Here is the crash log:

#30791 pidgin-encryption: update to 3.1 rsync@… update Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Here is a patch which makes the following changes to pidgin-encryption:

  • update to 3.1
  • rewrite master_sites so that the sourceforge fetch group is used
  • use rmd160 and sha256 checksums
  • disable universal variant since dependency nss doesn't have one
  • simplify destroot

This should build correctly but I cannot test it because I cannot get its dependency pidgin to build; see #30790. If you can get pidgin to build, and this update is successful, let me know and I can commit it.

#30795 Missing content in PostgreSQL config files macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by conradwt@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The content in the below two PostgreSQL files is missing:

/opt/local/var/db/postgresql90/defaultdb/pg_hba.conf
/opt/local/var/db/postgresql90/defaultdb/postgresql.conf

I'm not sure if these are the correct files to reference but this is all I could find on Mac OS 10.7. Thus, the content or the files are missing in this case.

#30801 'port upgrade outdated' fails with Error: Dependency 'p5.12-locale-gettext' not found. macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

port installed listed:

I'm afraid to try port -f activate p5-error because I don't really want to force my way past errors. But, maybe that's a safe solution?

***Unknown option --disable-dependency-tracking
Usage: /opt/local/bin/qmake [mode] [options] [files]

QMake has two modes, one mode for generating project files based on
some heuristics, and the other for generating makefiles. Normally you
shouldn't need to specify a mode, as makefile generation is the default
mode for qmake, but you may use this to test qmake on an existing project

Mode:
-project Put qmake into project file generation mode
In this mode qmake interprets files as files to
                 be built,
defaults to *.c; *.ui; *.y; *.l; *.ts; *.xlf; *.qrc; *.h; *.hpp; *.hh; *.hxx; *.H; *.cpp; *.cc; *.cxx; *.C
Note: The created .pro file probably will
need to be edited. For example add the QT variable to
                 specify what modules are required.
-makefile Put qmake into makefile generation mode (default)
In this mode qmake interprets files as project files to
be processed, if skipped qmake will try to find a project
file in your current working directory

#30820 texlive-basic @23152_1+doc Missing cork.enc encoding file? dports@… defect Normal ports

Reported by nigel.stanger@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Upgraded to TL 2011, attempted to build a PDF from a long-standing LaTeX document and got the following:

% latex Conference1
[ ...etc... ]
% dvipdf Conference1
dvips: ! Couldn't find header file: cork.enc

(I’m using the latex/dvipdf route for this document because it uses PSTricks, but that has nothing to do with the problem. I can reproduce the problem with any LaTeX document simply by using latex/dvipdf.)

cork.enc doesn’t appear to exist in any texmf tree. Weirdly, however, as far as I can tell cork.enc wasn’t in TL 2010 either, yet the document builds fine under TL 2010 (and incidentally also did so under TL 2007 and 2009), so something has clearly changed somewhere. If cork.enc was to appear anywhere, it should presumably be in texmf-texlive-dist/fonts/enc/dvips/base.

The only thing I could find that explicitly mentions cork.enc is the xdvi config in texmf-texlive/xdvi, but this doesn’t appear to be significantly different from TL 2010, and is for xdvi, not dvips, so I think that’s probably not the cause.

I grabbed a copy of cork.enc from the catdvi distribution (the most recent version of it I could find, from http://www.ctan.org/pkg/catdvi) and dropped it into my personal texmf tree. This appears to have universally fixed the problem.

Let me know if there’s any other information you need.

#30824 xmgr dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libpng12.0.dylib not resolved by posting in description mlund@… defect Normal ports

Reported by dixond@…, 3 years ago.

Description

When I enter "xmgr" I get the following

~: xmgr
dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libpng12.0.dylib
  Referenced from: /opt/local/lib/libXm.4.dylib
  Reason: image not found
Trace/BPT trap

I tried following the steps below, but that didn't help. I am currently running mac osx 10.6.8.

A command failed to run with a message referring to libpng12.0.dylib

Error message: dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libpng12.0.dylib

Explanation: When the libpng port was updated from 1.2.x to 1.4.x, the libpng library version changed. Software always links against a specific library version, so the ports you currently have installed that depend on libpng are linked against a now-nonexistent version of the libpng library. To fix this problem, all ports that depend on libpng will need to be rebuilt so that they link with the new version of the libpng library. This may be quite a few ports.

Workaround: We have tried to find all affected ports and incremented the revision number. In most cases a simple upgrade should get them all fixed.

sudo port selfupdate

sudo port upgrade outdated

If this does not help, force a rebuild of the port in question by using the following command:

sudo port -n upgrade --force $portname

You should also file a ticket against the port in question.
