#30882 port install py{26,27}-matplotlib hangs on OS X 10.6.8 while staging into destroot sean@… defect Normal ports

Reported by henrik_pilz@…, 3 years ago.

Description

the installation of matplotlib for python 2.6 hangs while staging into destroot. I attached the log for port -d install py26-matplotlib.

MacPorts is up to date I made a selfupdate and upgrade outdated before.

I also clean py26-mathplotlib before runnning the install mentioned above.

The last few entries in the log are:

#30883 BUG: py27-matplotlib is replaced by py24-matplotlib ram@… defect Normal ports

Reported by jochen@…, 3 years ago.

Description

When I try to upgrade outdated I get the following behaviour/messages:

py27-matplotlib is replaced by py24-matplotlib
--->  Computing dependencies for python24
--->  Fetching archive for python24

I do not want python24 ...

I see there is some logic with "subports" - do I need to do anything about that?

#30888 pypy: update to version 1.6 jmr@… update Normal ports

Reported by ciserlohn@…, 3 years ago.

Description

See the attached patch for an upgrade to version 1.6.

Changes:

  • switch from sha1 to sha256 checksum; remove md5 checksum
  • the source seems only available from bitbucket (affects master_sites, distname, worksrcdir)
  • adapted the 'darwin.py' patch (Is this '-mmacosx-version-min' thingy still necessary? It has been removed upstream, though the patch reintroduces it.)

#30907 py27-pyside seg fault on Leopard 10.5.8 mmoll@… defect Normal ports

Reported by jason.jackson.lives@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hi there, WARNING this report may be against Ticket Guidelines, sincere apologies if it is. The reason why I post here is because the code below works fine on other OSs (including Snow Leopard I believe) so thought it possibly could be an install issue. I'm also hoping someone here will be able to replicate it.

n.b. I've also recently posted this at PySide - http://bugs.pyside.org/show_bug.cgi?id=979

The Issue:

I have PySide installed using the py27-pyside port on my intel macbook 64-bit with osx 10.5.8 (Leopard). I can get a segmentation fault to happen with these two files:

PysideImportTest2.py:

class PysideImportTest2(object):
   pass

PysideImportTest1.py:

from PySide import QtGui
from PysideImportTest2 import *

class PysideImportTest1(QtGui.QDialog, PysideImportTest2):
   pass

if __name__ == '__main__':
   quit()

and running: python -B PysideImportTest1.py

Other info:

  • if the PysideImportTest2 class is defined in PysideImportTest1.py (ie is not imported) it compiles and runs fine
  • without -B flag only PysideImportTest2.pyc is created
  • seems to work on other OSs Windows/Ubuntu/Snow Leopard

#30924 fuse4x: update to 0.8.11 dports@… update Normal ports

Description

Update fuse4x to 0.8.11.

It fixes #30129

#30925 the getmail binaries have a version suffix mww@… defect Normal ports

Reported by vinc17@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The getmail binaries now have a version suffix. For getmail @4.20.4_0:

$ port contents getmail | grep /opt/local/bin
  /opt/local/bin/getmail-2.6
  /opt/local/bin/getmail_fetch-2.6
  /opt/local/bin/getmail_maildir-2.6
  /opt/local/bin/getmail_mbox-2.6

Such a suffix is useless and makes scripts executing getmail fail.

#30927 gimp2 @2.6.11_6+python27+x11 - X11 crash on Lion jeremyhu@… defect Normal ports

Reported by caius.cdv@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I got a fresh installation of Lion 10.7.1, with X11 from the Lion distribution, and installed the latest Gimp port. Compilation and installation did not report any problem.

I start Gimp, open an image, and go to Colours -> Curves... As soon as the pointer moves over the Curves histogram X11 crashes.

From Terminal I get a couple of warning/errors, the first at launch and the second at the crash:

(gimp:1965): GLib-WARNING **: goption.c:2132: ignoring no-arg, optional-arg or filename flags (8) on option of type 0
gimp: Fatal IO error 35 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server /tmp/launch-ppvQHH/org.x:0.

(script-fu:2118): LibGimpBase-WARNING **: script-fu: gimp_wire_read(): error

Some information about the installed X11 from the bug report I sent to Apple:

#30928 links: update to new version 2.3 blb@… update Normal ports

Reported by tvb377@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I noticed that a new version of the links browser is available.

Attached is a port file diff.

I removed the second master_site because apparently it's not been updated since 2005.

I removed the x11 description to silence lint and because the default description recommended by lint is equivalent.

Tested under osx 10.7 without x11

#30930 php5: update to 5.3.8; don't update to 5.3.7 ryandesign@… update Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

php 5.3.7 is out but contains a critical flaw so we must wait for 5.3.8 and update php5 and related bundled module ports to that version.

We should update php5-devel to any available 5.3.8 release candidate as well, or to 5.3.8 final if there is no release candidate.

The suhosin patch has been updated for 5.3.7 so we can now resolve #29463 too. And text modifications suggested in #29867 could also be applied

#30939 Keep getting error: "Failed to verify signature for archive" macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by urban.48@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I'm working with a fresh install of MacPorts on OS X 10.7.1 Lion. I updated my Xcode to 4.1 prior to the MacPorts install.

I can't install any ports. Every port I've tried gives me the error:

Error: Target org.macports.archivefetch returned: Failed to verify signature for archive!

I've tried a variety of ports, I get the same error every time. I've cleaned the ports and tried re-installing, but get the same error. I've re-installed MacPorts, that doesn't help either.

#30940 Reorganize 'fuse' ports dports@… enhancement Normal ports

Reported by anatol.pomozov@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Macfuse project is dead, fuse4x its successor is more and more widely used. Macfuse in macports has issues with Lion (Finder, deadlock, ...) as well as improper locking in 64bits kernel.

My suggestion is to dump macfuse and make fuse4x as a default fuse api implementation.

Dan mentioned that he wants several fuse api implementations in macports. In this case we need to handle this situation correctly. The plan is following:

  • Add a virtual package "fuse". The only purpose of it is to have a dependency to default fuse implementation ("lib:libfuse.dylib:fuse4x").
  • All fuse filesystems should depends on this virtual fuse package.
  • All fuse api implementations should be ABI compatible (the same library name, the same compile flags, ...)
  • Remove macfuse.
#30941 Unable to build help2man, typo in dependency macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by dmuth@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Good Evening,

When I try to build the help2man package for MacPorts v2.0.1 (it's a dependency for nodejs-devel), I get an error about an unknown dependency:

[root@dolph:~ ] # port install help2man
--->  Computing dependencies for help2man
Error: Dependency 'p5.12-locale-gettext' not found.
Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.
To report a bug, see <http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets>

Investigating further, it seems there is a similarly named package:

[dolph:~ ] $ port search locale-gettext
p5-locale-gettext @1.50.0 (perl)
    Perl interface to GNU gettext

...so this may just be a typo.

Are there any ways I can fix this on my end, or should I wait for a new release of the help2man package?

Thanks for your time,

-- Doug

Neither port sync, nor another selfupdate, clean --dist and install did solve the problem. I'm not into the stuff deeply, but could it be that the mirrors are not up to date or not working atomically correct?

Thanks for help.

#30950 gdbm @1.9.1 update - broken dependencies snc@… defect Normal ports

Reported by ak.ml@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The update of gdbm in r82967 has caused some minor broken dependencies:

gst
  /opt/local/lib/smalltalk/gdbm-3.1.so
    /opt/local/lib/libgdbm.3.dylib
perl5.12
  /opt/local/lib/perl5/5.12.3/darwin-multi-2level/auto/GDBM_File/GDBM_File.bundle
    /opt/local/lib/libgdbm.3.dylib
ruby

  /opt/local/lib/ruby/1.8/x86_64-darwin10/gdbm.bundle
    /opt/local/lib/libgdbm.3.dylib

So the affected ports are:

  • gst
  • perl5.12
  • ruby
$ port -v installed gdbm gst perl5.12 ruby
The following ports are currently installed:
  gdbm @1.9.1_0+universal (active) platform='darwin 10' archs='i386 x86_64'
  gst @3.1_2+gtk+tcltk (active) platform='darwin 10' archs='x86_64'

  ruby @1.8.7-p352_1+thread_hooks+universal (active) platform='darwin 10' archs='i386 x86_64'

#30953 gedit @2.30.4_3 +python27 Build failure devans@… defect Normal ports

Reported by timwhite88@…, 3 years ago.

Description

gedit fails to build under Lion. After fixing a bug in gtksourveview2 (see ticket #27923) the build still fails. Seems that it needs IgeMacMenuGroup which is in a header file that doesn't get loaded if under x86_64. Even commenting that out doesn't work as there are other locations it attempts to use IgeMacMenu and associated functions.

:info:build In file included from gedit-commands-file.c:45:

Due to this part, the relevant parts aren't loaded.

I believe we need to move gedit to GtkOSXApplication instead of IgeMacMenu

(/opt/local/share/texmf-texlive-dist/tex/latex/tools/verbatim.sty)

! LaTeX Error: File `preview.sty' not found.

Type X to quit or <RETURN> to proceed,
or enter new name. (Default extension: sty)

This ticket isimilar to ticket #25567 from about a year ago; however only in reference to the preview.sty package. I think I got it to work before with some texhash trickery, but I can't remember what I did. After a fresh re-install of OS 10.7.1 (Lion) and subsequence new installation of macports I'm getting the same errors.

Running

  find /opt -name 'preview.sty'

returns nothing, indicating that preview.sty isn't installed.

#30971 virtualbox @4.1.2 Configure error - qt4 not found macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by gunnlaugur@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Tried to install virtualbox (with and without +vde2) just now; it fails saying “qt4 not found” at the configure step.

port info does state the qt4-mac dependency, and I don't have qt4-mac installed, but port install still neglects to install the dependency.

main.log is attached.

#30972 moreutils: name collision with gnu parallel macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Description

moreutils provides a tool called parallel parallel provides gnu parallel

These two ports cannot coexist as is. suggest rename parallel to gparalllel or a variant of moreutils that does not install parallel. at the very least these ports need to realize that if one is installed there will be a conflict installing the other.

#30976 pypy fails to build without gcc-4.0 (cc1: error: unrecognized command line option "-arch" ) jmr@… defect Normal ports

Reported by jwm.columbia@…, 3 years ago.

Description

When trying to build pypy on a system where it has not previously been installed (i.e. using python27, or python27-apple), the build process fails.

It appears the problem is caused by the CC flag "-arch x86_64", which I believe is specific to GCC on Darwin, and is not present in the compiler used (/opt/local/bin/gcc-mp-4.5).

Output of the offending build step is below. main.log is attached.

Thanks for your help!

and then does not continue. I have let it run for more then 20 min and I'm assuming that means that it will never complete. (also, I see no activity on the terminal thread)

Running 10.7.1 but I got the same behavior in 10.6.7

full output:

:~$sudo port -v install awesome

#30988 doxygen: Please add texlive-latex-extra dep (or possibly +latex variant) css@… defect Normal ports

Reported by eborisch@…, 3 years ago.

Description

When using doxygen to create latex output, running make in the output dir hits a missing sectsty.sty error, in the same fashion as noted here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/doxygen/+bug/701492

port provides /opt/local/share/texmf-texlive-dist/tex/latex/sectsty/sectsty.sty
/opt/local/share/texmf-texlive-dist/tex/latex/sectsty/sectsty.sty is provided by: texlive-latex-extra

Suggested fix

  • Add texlive-latex-extra (provides share/texmf-texlive-dist/tex/latex/sectsty/sectsty.sty) as a dependency to doxygen
  • Perhaps add a +latex variant that in turn requires texlive-latex-extra (so not everyone who wants HTML doxygen outputs needs to install all of texlive-bin -- a non-trivial install)
#30989 doxygen: Please upgrade to 1.7.5.1 css@… update Normal ports

Reported by eborisch@…, 3 years ago.

Description

A new version of Doxygen is available -- please update the portfile. It looks like the +tcl variant may no longer be required, but I'm not 100% certain.

Description

#30992 virtualbox: enable hardening rmstonecipher@… enhancement Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

When building virtualbox, this appears in the log:

:info:configure
:info:configure   +++ WARNING +++ WARNING +++ WARNING +++ WARNING +++ WARNING +++ WARNING +++
:info:configure Hardening is disabled. Please do NOT build packages for distribution with
:info:configure   disabled hardening!
:info:configure   +++ WARNING +++ WARNING +++ WARNING +++ WARNING +++ WARNING +++ WARNING +++
:info:configure

So since MacPorts is distributing binary packages of ports, I guess we should enable hardening, whatever that means.

#30993 ledit @2.00 FTBFS: make -j4 breaks compilation macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by tkren@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Building ledit fails with

Building ledit
Error: Target org.macports.build returned: shell command failed (see log for details)

The logs reveal the following:

[...]
:debug:build Executing command line:  cd "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_editors_ledit/ledit/work/ledit-2.00" && /usr/bin/make -j4 -w all
[...]
:info:build Error while loading "pa_def.cmo": file not found in path
:info:build make: *** [ledit.cmo] Error 2

When I simply run make -w all in /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_editors_ledit/ledit/work/ledit-2.00 the build finishes and port can install ledit. Alternatively, running port install ledit twice fixes the problem, too.
