Hi, in my MacBook Pro (Intel) trying to compile after to have decompressed the tarball I get: --- checking for Tcl configuration... found /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh checking for existence of /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh... loading checking for Tcl public headers... /usr/include checking for tclsh... /sw/bin/tclsh checking for Tcl package directory... /Library/Tcl checking whether tclsh was compiled with threads... no configure: error: tcl wasn't compiled with threads enabled --- Please, tell me how can I configure and compile the Ports.

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Salvo,

Your output says that MacPorts found tclsh in /sw/bin/tclsh, which suggests to me either that you currently have Fink installed, or that you had Fink installed once but bits of it are still left behind.

I'm afraid that no port system or package system that I know of work well with another in place (I don't think that it's possible to do so and be useful at the same time), and that goes for Fink and MacPorts too. If you don't want to use Fink any more, go through their uninstallation instructions or help forums/mailing lists to make sure that you have removed all traces of it from your system before you try to install MacPorts. If you want to test out both Fink and MacPorts, I'm afraid that you'll have to test them separately, without the other installed.

I hope that this helps.

Kind regards,

Maun Suang
