gnome-panel needs libxml2

Description
I tried installing "gnome-panel", but it failed saying that it required libxml-2.0. I did "sudo port install libxml2" then "sudo port install gnome-panel" and it worked.

This is reported in bug 1290. The problem is when installing libonobo.
libbonobo _does_ depend on libxml2, but somehow this dependency it only honored if one installes libbonobo directly, and _not_ stuff depending on libonobo...
