Description
using OS X 10.4.11, installed MacPorts using the Tiger binary. The install script did not set my environmental variables (I had to manually set PATH and MANPATH, no .profile file was created), and installing software with the port command did not install the corresponding man pages to /opt/local/share/man, /usr/share/man, /usr/local, or anywhere man pages would normally be found if they were in fact installed at all.

The installation script being buggy and failing to create a
~/.profilefile in some cases is a known and already reported bug, which will be fixed in the up-coming 1.6.1 MacPorts release. Therefore closing this ticket as duplicate, though I cannot remember the number of the original one.Reports for ports failing to install their man pages should be filed separately per the guidelines outlined in our guide.
