Pidgin +quartz Three button mouse emulation broken

Reported by: mmarcus@… Owned by: nefar@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 1.6.0
Keywords: Mouse emulation Cc: simon@…
Port: pidgin

Description

Pidgin 2.5.1 +quartz three-button mouse emulation is broken. Not that it is also broken in X11 on leopard anyway, but it was fixed in in XQuartz 2.3.1. So the state of affairs is that now three-button emulation works in X11 + Xquartz 2.3.1, but doesn't work in Native Pdigin 2.5.1 + quartz. Not sure if this is a Pidgin or native gtk bug, but it seems that a fix could be gleaned from the XQuartz sources. Repro: Launch Pidign 2.3.1, click over name in buddy list with modifier key, e.g. control key. Appropriate mouse button not emulated. Also, if observe carefully when just mouse over a name in buddy list, popup window appears to flash repeatedly in and out of view.

As this is very specific to the functionality of Pidgin, I think you are better off reporting this issue upstream.
