ASSP 1.3.3.10 is the current stable version, which is no longer being actively worked on, perhaps bug fixes/security fixes only. 2.0.x is very solid from what I have been told by others as well. Perhaps we can get a 1.x branch update as a final version, and then a beta release of the current 2.0.x branch as well.

I am trying, it has been a long time since this port was updated, I think it was only released once, and this is also my first port update file to ever make. I have asked the mailing list for some help. For the sake of helping others, I am pasting in the email I posted to the list in case it can be useful to others.

Since you are seem to be knowledgable about this software, it would really help if you could attach a patch for the current Portfile that makes the appropriate changes.
