What would you have it do? Try to compile anyway and fail?

As the message says, cairo doesn't like Xcode 2.2.1. Please download Xcode 2.5 from Apple.

  1. Go to http://connect.apple.com
  2. log in
  3. click Downloads
  4. click Developer Tools on the right
  5. use your browser's Find function to find "2.5" on the page
  6. download Xcode 2.5
  7. install it

Do not download Xcode 3; that's for Leopard.
