Description

In Debian you have packet python-dev which contain header and library files for python development. This would be nice in macports too.

Ports in MacPorts install libraries and headers by default for a given port. So if you install, for example, python25, you'll see it installs (among other files) 

/opt/local/lib/libpython2.5.dylib
/opt/local/include/python2.5/Python.h

Are these the types of files to which you are referring?
