pTeX cannot be built on Mac OS X 10.4.11. This seems the same as tickets #18166 and #18162.

I have attached the error message.

Thank you for the work. I've applied the patch and have tried to rebuild the port. But, it gives an error at different place.

I also needed a similar hack to dvipng. The following files works for me.

Nice catch! This workaround has been committed in r47284.
