#19727 closed defect (fixed)

DiskWarrior found the following.

Reported by: dhsanto@… Owned by: raimue (Rainer Müller)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 1.7.1
Keywords: Cc:
Port: vim-app

Description (last modified by mf2k (Frank Schima))

DW sees the file as a plist file, because of the .plist extension, but, it's not really... is it? I can ignore the DW notice, but, can it be fixed from MacPorts' end (renaming or extension removal)? Is it worth the trouble?

File: "patch-Info.plist"
Detected that Property List data is damaged and cannot be repaired.
XML parser error:
Unexpected character - at line 1
Old-style plist parser error:
Unexpected ';' or '=' after key at line 1
Location: ".../opt/local/var/macports/sources/rsync.macports.org/release/ports/editors/vim-app/files/"

Sincerely,

David Santo

It's actually a patch to a plist file (hence the patch- prefix). It could be renamed to something like patch-Info.plist.diff but note that there are probably other such patches similarly named throughout MacPorts.

Although this is not a real problem, I renamed the patch in r51747.
