Description
shared-mime-info installs 591 files into ${prefix}/share/mime that are not registered to the port and are thus not removed when the port is uninstalled. I believe this may have come about as part of r33238, and appears to have been deliberate, but I don't understand why this is desirable.

I made this change because shared-mime-info is not the only port updating the mime database.

"The mime database" -- is that just everything in the directory ${prefix}/share/mime or are you referring to a particular file?

Everything except ${prefix}/share/mime/packages/*.xml, these files are registered and used to generate everything else.
