duplicity: new upstream 0.6.05

Reported by: larry+macports@… Owned by: singingwolfboy@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 1.8.0
Keywords: Cc:
Port: duplicity

Description

The latest stable version of duplicity is 0.6.05.

Formerly, duplicity's 0.5 series was considered the stable one and 0.6 was for development. As of 0.6.05, the maintainer designated 0.6 as the stable series.

Besides updating the version, I made a few changes to the portfile to point to Launchpad for downloads. If there are any issues at all with these changes, please let me know.

Actually, Launchpad was already in master_sites. What I meant to say is that I changed the URL to reflect a recent directory reorganization.

The Duplicity homepage still lists 0.5.20 as the latest stable, and 0.6.05 as the latest unstable. Can you show me where the maintainer marked 0.6 as the stable series? Also, why do you have "set stable_series 0.6-series" in your patchfile? It doesn't appear to be used for anything in the portfile.

For references to 0.6 being the stable series, see:

https://code.launchpad.net/duplicity/+download https://lists.launchpad.net/duplicity-team/msg00133.html

But you are right that this is inconsistent with the official home page. I will raise the question on the mailing list, since I have a shadow of a doubt now.

I set the "stable_series" variable to use in the master_sites URL. I thought that would make its purpose clearer than just putting "0.6-series" (or 0.5-series?) in the middle of the URL. The maintainer reorganized the directory structure to do away with the "stable" label, or else I would have preferred to keep that.

0.6 is stable now and 0.5 is still supported for a while. I need to
update the webpage to show that fact. 0.7 is the development version.
