    initial v4  
    1 Nethack runs as root, via setuid on '/opt/local/share/nethackdir/nethack'. It might sensible to setgid as 'games' or similar and set permissions appropriately elsewhere, but to run nethack as root by default is insane from a security perspective.
     1looking into this.
