p5-locale-gettext doesn't install

Trying to install libidl I get the error below. I'm running on SnowLeopardGM (10A432) and I have this in my macports.conf:

build_arch i386
universal_sysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk

If I comment out the test in /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_perl_p5-locale-gettext/work/gettext-1.05/Makefile.PL and always set the libs variable, everything works fine
