The question is, where did /usr/local/libstdc++.6.dylib come from? You should rename your usr/local folder to /usr/local.moved, then clean and try again.

    11I am using Snow Leopard 10.6.1, and macports 1.8.1. I have recently upgraded, and decided I did not need all my previous macports software, so I uninstalled it. Soon, though I reinstalled it, along with Apple's dev tools 3.2.1, the latest version, the last time I checked. I tried to install perl5.8 (default variant, and using 32-bit compile), and this is what happens.
