#23363 closed defect (fixed)

asterisk-1.6.1.12 missing GSM transcoder

Reported by: chad@… Owned by: marc.blanchet@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 1.8.2
Keywords: Cc: mr_bond@…, stefan.van.der.eijk@…, roederja
Port: asterisk

Description

after installing this port, i'm unable to play any of the sound files -- getting an error message like: "Unable to find a codec translation path from 0x40 (slin) to 0x2 (gsm)"

looking a bit deeper, running "core show translation" and "module show like codec", it looks like there's no codec_gsm.so built.

might that be because --without-gsm is included in configure.args?

would be really nice to have that codec, since the default installed asterisk sound files are in .gsm.

It was disabled because it doesn't build without platform specific flags on OS X 10.6. See #22950. I'm not the maintainer, nor do I use asterisk. So one of you guys needs to fix it.

Ok I put the --host hack back in, but the port needs some love by someone who actually uses it. For example what is this weird rsync command good for? Also the port does not disable libraries it does not depend on, it will just link to whatever it finds in the macports path.
