inkscape 0.47 crashes on import

Opening a new document and trying to import another SVG file causes a crash on my Snow Leopard installation. I can't reproduce the problem on the binary from inkscape.org. gdb trace is attached.

It seems very crashy overall, this is my first time installing since 0.46

Inkscape seems to work fine for me, although I first applied the portfile patch provided in Ticket #24456 (updates to use python26).

inkscape locks up for me when i tried to open a SVG file even after the patch from #24456. I see:
