Unable to Install gcc44 on Snow Leopard

Description

I have tried gcc44 on snowlopard but I am unable to build it. Here is the screenshot as shown below. I just stuck at Building gcc44 for hours. 

sudo port install -d gcc44
Password:

In order to actually use the debug flag - and see where it is potentially getting stuck - run the following: 

sudo port -d install gcc44

Did it ever finish? You didn't say what kind of Mac you have, but gcc44 will take hours to build, longer on a slower Mac obviously, so try just letting it run for awhile.
