Description
Hello,
Everytime I try to install devel/ncursesw, I stumble upon this problem where several of its files seems not to be registered properly meaning that it can't be activated. Removing it effectively shows that many files are not uninstalled.
here is the "port -d install" traceback: http://macports.pastebin.com/qnvm3NjK
Installing in "direct" mode seems to "fix" the issue. but is not satisfying.

- Version changed from 1.8.2 to 1.8.99
- Component changed from ports to base
Please remember to set the component and version correctly. This debug log isn't really interesting as it only shows an activation attempt failing (correctly) when the stray files already exist. A debug log of a run where they are created would be useful.

typescript of "port -d install"

- Status changed from new to closed
- Component changed from base to ports
- Resolution set to duplicate
- Port set to ncursesw
So this is the same issue with ncursesw as seen in #22046. The twist here is that software/ and the rest of $prefix are on different partitions, and only the former is case-sensitive.
