soprano-2.4.3 build failure

Reported by: mbkads@… Owned by: macports-tickets@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 1.8.2
Keywords: Cc: ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt), nerdling (Jeremy Lavergne)
Port: soprano

Description

I am a newcomer to OS X as well as Macports. I have followed the instructions in the Macports guide to install Xcode, macports base and done the requisite selfupdate and "upgrade outdated". I have installed about 164 packages without problems. However installing soprano fails during the build phase.

I searched for any existing reports/tickets related to soprano but couldn't find any. I tried a couple of experiments to specify macports-gcc-4.4,3 but that didn't work either. The full log of a clean install attempt is attached.

I checked out r63742 (soprano-2.4.0.1) locally and built it. Build completed successfully. Tried with version 2.4.1 and got the same errors as I was getting with 2.4.3. I don't understand what is wrong in my macports environment that is making it unable to compile soprano versions 2.4.1 and above.

I thought at first this might be a parallel build issue, because I see you're building with -j3 and I'd never tried that (I'd only tried -j2). But trying now, even -j3 works for me. But I only have 2 processor cores. Perhaps you could try with just one build make job and see if it works then. And if it doesn't, you can attach your main.log and that will be easier to compare with.

sudo port clean soprano
sudo port install soprano build.jobs=1

I have the same problem. Building with 1 job doesn't fix it. As I read in the log there is another Symbol missing. Log attached.

I referenced the wrong changeset: either way soprano has been updated. Since there's been no updates to the ticket I'm going to close it.
