Description
Mac OS X version 10.6.4 (10F2025); MacPorts version 1.9.1; Hardware: Mac mini 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB 1067MHz DDR3
I just did a fresh install of MacPorts on this new Mac mini. Installed wireshark-devel (1.3.5); ran it on the wired interface. It captured about 12 or so packets and then nothing more. It said it was running, but nothing else was captured. I tried restarting it in various ways... all to no avail. I uninstalled wireshark-devel and installed wireshark (1.2.9), which works perfectly fine with no problems so far.

hello,
This is a patch to update wireshark-devel to version 1.4.0rc1

Sounds like #24874, which was supposed to have been fixed in wireshark 1.2.9. Not sure if wireshark-devel 1.3.5 is new enough to have this change. wireshark-devel should be updated to 1.4.0rc1 which hopefully includes the fix for this.
