Ticket #26765 (closed update: fixed)

Opened 3 years ago

Last modified 2 years ago

Please update xapian-core to 1.2.x

Reported by: tommyd@… Owned by: m@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 1.9.1
Keywords: Cc: dcolish@…
Port: xapian-core

Description

I'd like to package p5-search-xapian, but the most recent version of that package is incompatible with the version of xapian-core in MP:

...
Writing Makefile for Search::Xapian
Xapian version 1.0.15 is incompatible with Search::Xapian 1.2.3.0
Warning: No success on command[/opt/local/bin/perl Makefile.PL]

Please update xapian-core to 1.2.x or make the port openmaintainer so I can do it myself.

Oh, I see there is already the 11 months old #22591 - maybe I should just continue then...?

  • Port set to xapian-core

the new sup wants xapian 1.2.x

I clobbered my Portfiles to grab 1.2.4 and it worked fine. xapian-core no longer needs the patch that was applied.

Hi, I'm one of the Xapian developers and I use a mac for my main dev box so keeping this port updated would not be much trouble for me; all the software compiles correctly on OSX so the ports should not be complicated at all. If you are interested in having a permanent maintainer for the Xapian packages I would be happy to do that. I'm also attaching the diff for bumping the ports to 1.2.5.

  • Status changed from new to closed
  • Resolution set to fixed

Committed in r77791. I fixed the maintainers line (since you don't have an @macports.org alias), and marked the python variants as conflicting.
