Suggestion for section 3.3 of MacPorts Guide

Hi,

I wrote a few lines for section 3.3 of the guide.

Since there was no response on the mailing list concerning the usual workflow for bigger changes to the xml sources, I decided to file this as a ticket, because this gives one of the lead developers the chance to review my addition before I commit my changes to the SVN repo.

Hope my contribution is fit enough for inclusion into section 3.3.

Sorry, as posted on the ML I had this change already committed to the Guide. Had one iteration of the content already with Brad Giesbrecht, so I hope it's readable and suitable as a common tasks section.

It might be a bit repetitive, because some commands are already described somewhere else in this guide, but will give an overview of a typical maintenance workflow.

I would change this to: Some commands are described in further details elsewhere in the guide.

I don't believe you should be using variablelist for these entries—not in this manner at least. You may consider putting only the command in the term tag and the whole description inside the para tag.

Well, concerning the variable list I just did what was done for the already existing entries... (One would have to change it for all other items accordingly.) I'll have a look at it during the weekend, I guess.
