Description (last modified by ryandesign@…) (diff)
When I run
port upgrade outdated
I get this message:
---> Computing dependencies for p5-xml-namespacesupport ---> Staging p5-xml-namespacesupport into destroot Error: Target org.macports.destroot returned: /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_perl_p5-xml-namespacesupport/work/destroot/opt/local/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.1: no such file or directory Log for p5-xml-namespacesupport is at: /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_perl_p5-xml-namespacesupport/main.log Error: Problem while installing p5-xml-namespacesupport
I had the same problem with older versions of MacPorts - for at least 6 months but never submitted a ticket since I hoped someone else will report it. It seems that many packages depend on p5-xml-namespacesupport and all these package cannot be upgraded on my Mac.
I would like to attach the file about which port complains:
/opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_perl_p5-xml-namespacesupport/main.log
but do not see how to do this from your interface. Just in case, I add the content of that file at the end of the message.
Best regards, AV

I deleted the contents of the log from your issue description since you managed to attach it as a file, and I fixed your WikiFormatting.

The relevant error in your log seems to be:
:error:destroot Target org.macports.destroot returned: /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_perl_p5-xml-namespacesupport/work/destroot/opt/local/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.1: no such file or directory
I assume you are trying to use perl 5.10 via the perl5.10 port? That may be the problem. Most of us have probably only tested the default configuration, which is to use perl 5.8 via the perl5.8 port.

Your log starts at the destroot phase. Could you please clean and generate a complete log?
