Description

The following installation, sudo port -v upgrade xorg-libxcb, generates the following error messages using Xcode 4.2 and Mac OS X Lion:

As per the ticket guidelines, it's not useful to cc openmaintainer.

Probably your macports user was created by a prerelease version of base, and has its home dir set to /dev/null. Check with:

dscl . -read /Users/macports

and if that's the case, change it to /var/empty:

sudo dscl . -create /Users/macports NFSHomeDirectory /var/empty

However, when I attempt the upgrade, it's hanging or doesn't proceed beyond the following point:
