Works for me. Don't forget to add the '+' to 'disable_debugging' in the default variant section (or make a better fix according to #28303).

0.48.2 is available as a tarball as described at http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=27770836 Ah, I see what this patch is now: a patch to the Portfile, not the source. Sorry to have missed that. Regardless, could it be applied, please?

The patch-configure.diff patch for variant python27 should be patch-configure-python27.diff instead.
