Description

I know that some 9-10 months ago there was already a ticket (25178) about this problem that was fixed (https://trac.macports.org/ticket/25178), but I'm opening this ticket to report that with much more recently compiled ports w/ my Mac OS X 10.7.1, I'm encountering the same error.

I installed kdenlive, and whenever I try to open a file dialog, I get the following error:

Could not start process Cannot talk to klauncher: The name org.kde.klauncher was not provided by any .service files.

What's strange is that when I tried doing this a few weeks ago, everything was fine and I didn't get the error. I was able to open and save files with kdenlive with no problems. I'm not sure what's changed since then; I haven't messed with any of my MacPorts directories/files. There might have been a Mac security update and/or maybe an OS update, but that's all I can think of offhand.

I'm kind of a MacPorts noob -- please let me know if there's any information I can supply that might help fix this problem. If it's happening to me, I imagine it is happening (or will happen) to someone else.

Many thanks.

The currently opened ticket for this is #31332.
It's fixed in kdelibs4 @4.7.1_1.
Could you tell me if your installed version is the latest available? i.e.

port -v installed kdelibs4

Thanks for the speedy reply!

It returns:

kdelibs4 @4.7.1_0 (active) platform='darwin 11' archs='x86_64'

It looks like I'm outdated then? (Sorry I didn't see the other ticket first.) How do I update? sudo port -v install kdelibs4 ?

Yes your kdelibs4 is outdated. To install the latest version, do as usual: selfupdate then upgrade.
