Error: running port selfupdate

sudo port selfupdate

Error: /opt/local/bin/port: port selfupdate failed: Error synchronizing MacPorts sources: shell command failed (see log for details)

The /var/log/system.log is not showing anything pertinent with the result of the above command.

Any other place I can look?

Run the command again with -v

Most likely your local network is blocking rsync, though.

Thanks. port was set to use the proxy from my office. I edited the vi /opt/local/etc/macports/macports.conf and commented out the proxy settings..
