I considered your patch but i feel i can not apply it for two reasons:

  • I can not test it because I do not have access to a 10.4 machine
  • The port has dependencies (llvm) that we can not fulfill on 10.4

After I wrote the comment above I noticed that our llvm port does indeed include support for darwin8. Oh, well, I've updated and applied your patch. But I will CC you on all bug reports I receive due to darwin 8 support :-p
