#32328 closed defect (fixed)

fvwm2: fetch fails on ftp-deprived networks

Reported by: wdn@… Owned by: macports-tickets@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.0.3
Keywords: Cc: ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt)
Port: fvwm2

Description (last modified by ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt))

While trying to install fvwm2 for my MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard, I receive a fetch failure for the following file:

fvwm-2.6.3.tar.bz2

If I go to distfiles.macports.org/fvwm2, I find the following two files:

fvwm-2.5.21.tar.bz2
fvwm-2.5.31.tar.bz2

So it looks like the file that is reported as missing is indeed missing.

Thanks,

Dave

Summary: Missing fvwm-2.6.3.tar.bz2fvwm2: fetch fails on ftp-deprived networks

The file is right there on the official server:

ftp://ftp.fvwm.org/pub/fvwm/version-2/

You must be on a network that does not permit access to FTP sites. Unfortunately our primary distfiles mirror is also on such a network, so it cannot mirror this file either.

Should be fixed in r87641 by adding a working http mirror.

I'm not really sure what our network allows. I was aware of the fvwm.org site but did not know whether the tarball referenced by Macports was indeed the same as that on the official fvwm site. And I could see the older versions of the tarballs there. I'll try the official version and see how that works.
