Macports gives /opt/local/var/macports/registry/.registry.lock

Description
So after installing macports in terminal i used the command "sudo port install wine" and it gave me /opt/local/var/macports/registry/.registry.lock. So i looked up the error online and it said that it was an error that occurs when macports is currently installing something. But this didnt make any sence as no other terminial windows were open. none the less I still closed and opened terminal and tried again. yet still got the same message.

If Activity Monitor confirms there is no "port" process running (or, if you restart your computer and you still get the same message about the registry lock the first time you try to install something with MacPorts), then just delete the lock file.
