#33271 closed defect (invalid)

Same problems as #33185 and #33165 but the solution doesn't work for me

Reported by: klloyd@… Owned by: jeremyhu (Jeremy Huddleston Sequoia)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.0.3

Port: apple-gcc42

Description

I am also running OS X 10.7.3 and Xcode 4.2.1 on a new computer and got the same error message as #33185 when trying to install Arb through MacPorts. I ran the following workaround listed in #33165

sudo port uninstall imake sudo port install imake configure.compiler=llvm-gcc-4.2

but I'm still getting the same error message. I also tried installing apple-gcc42 but I get the same shell command failed error (with the attached log file). This failure has happened with the following ports: arb, xfig, transfig, and apple-gcc42.

Only one issue per ticket please. Your log is for apple-gcc42 so I'm setting the port to that. Your other issues are covered by those other tickets.

You followed bad advice and got into trouble. Don't set configure.compiler unless you know what you're doing, and if you do run into trouble while doing so, don't complain about it because you shot yourself in the foot.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
