octave-statistics installs nothing — at Initial Version

Description
After installing octave-devel, I needed the statistics package, so I installed octave-statistics successfully (no error reported), but the package is not installed, as a simple inspection in octave shows:
octave:1> pkg list Package Name | Version | Installation directory
miscellaneous *| 1.0.9 | /opt/local/share/octave/packages/miscellaneous-1.0.9
Note that sudo port contents octave-statistics shows: Port octave-statistics contains:
/opt/local/share/octave/octave_packages_octave-statistics
which is an empty file.
