install glib2 frozen

Reported by: march.1.xue@… Owned by: ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.0.4
Keywords: Cc:
Port: glib2

Description (last modified by ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt))

I've tried to use:

 sudo port install glib2
--->  Computing dependencies for glib2
--->  Building glib2

It has been frozen here more 30 minutes.

This is a newly bought Mac lion and I just installed Macport.

How should I check if this is problem?

I don't know how long it should take on modern systems, but on my several-year-old systems glib2 certainly can take awhile to build.

You can interrupt the build by pressing Control-C, then "sudo port clean glib2", then try again with "sudo port -d install glib2", "-d" will make it show debug output; if it ever stops, you can show us the part it stopped on.

march.1.xue, have you made any progress on this issue?

I was able to resolved the issue by re-install Macports, and followed by sudo port -d self update and sudo port clean --all vile

Then when I sudo port -d install glib2 and others, it was done in a reasonable period of time.
