cannot complete installation of texlive

I have installed MacPort on my MacBook Pro (OS Lion). When I try to install texlive using the command:

sudo port install texlive

the installation fails with the following message:

Is there anything obvious I should do in this case?

I looked into the log file a bit more, and I can see this:

not sure why the C compiler does not work... is there anything I can do to make sure that it actually works?
