| Port: | py-dot, py27-dot, py26-dot, py27-pydot, py26-pydot |
Description
These ports:
py27-dot @1.0.28 py26-dot @1.0.28
and these ports:
py27-pydot @1.0.25 py26-pydot @1.0.25
install the same software: the Python pydot module from the pydot project on googlecode.
On one hand, py-dot (py27-dot, py26-dot) is unified and has a newer version number.
On the other hand, at least to me, the names py27-pydot and py26-pydot are preferable, since the Python module is called pydot. Also, the py26-pygraph-dot and py26-pebl ports depend on py26-pydot.
I suggest fixing this by removing the existing py27-pydot and py26-pydot ports and then renaming the py-dot port (and its subports) to py-pydot.

CORRECTION: There is no py27-pydot port. I forgot this was a local portfile I have because I wanted to use py26-pydot with Python 2.7, and I had not gotten to submitting it yet. It doesn't look like I can edit the original ticket title and description to remove the incorrect information. There still is a redundancy between py26-pydot and py-dot and its subport py26-dot. Sorry for the confusion.
