I set up a macports mirror, accessibile as
http://macports.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/macports-release/
http://macports.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/macports-distfiles/
rsync access is also provided here:
rsync://macports.mirror.garr.it/macports-release/
rsync://macports.mirror.garr.it/macports-distfiles/
If you prefer other paths just let me know.
If you can you should list mirror-service@… as contact email address.

I have created the following hostnames so you can use them when listing yourself on the wiki. You should add yourself to the wiki and keep it updated with status of the mirror going forward. We also have [rsync://rsync.macports.org/packages/ packages] you can mirror if desired. The rsync server has a [rsync://rsync.macports.org/packages/ packages] module you can pull from. If you end up mirroring the packages, let me know so i can create a hostname for you.
