The log says: 

Unrecognized option: --disable-dependency-tracking

This simply means nobody tested the universal variant with this port, and it does not work. Either see if you can fix it and give us a patch, or don't use the universal variant.

    1 I've had my xemacs crash when it was trying to fontify a buffer. I guess it is similar to the bug described here: https://trac.macports.org/ticket/36196
