TeXShop should be patched so, that it uses the default dports TeX installation instead of "/ust/local/...". Simply for increased usability. Since there's no dependency in tetex, it (patch+dep on tetex) could also be added in as a variant.

Is this even a bug anymore?
TeXShop has a preference setting for what TeX tools it uses.
