I would prefer patches approved by upstream. Is this also tracked on the KDE bug tracker valgrind uses?

The upstream bug report says valgrind should be working on 10.9 now; presumably that refers to the version currently in development. They released 3.10.0-BETA.1 yesterday, presumably incorporating those fixes. The attached patch updates the portfile. It builds for me on Mavericks, but I haven't tried to use it.

The official release of Valgrind 3.10.0 is out, hopefully the Portfile can now be updated?

I've tested Valgrind 3.10 by local Portfile mods. Works great! I'll submit an updated portfile in a moment.

I noticed that valgrind is marked as needing a new maintainer. I'm happy to volunteer for that role.

Thank you for volunteering, but I'm not sure what you mean. The port is marked as being maintained by Rainer.
Thank you also for the patches above. I'll work on applying them now, after integrating the changes from my earlier patch.
