Same issue over here. main.log attached. clean doesn't appear to help.

System is El Capitan.

I have this problem as well.

I updated to El Capitan in the past few days. I completely uninstalled MacPorts, re-installed, and then set up all the ports I had before. For almost all of them, I had no problem.

libgcc45 failed for me in precisely the same was as the OP.

Please let me know if there's some command I can execute to gather more information.

We can't diagnose the problem until somebody attaches a complete main.log file as I requested above. If it mentions a config.log again, as it did before, attaching the config.log could also be helpful.

libgcc45 builds fine for me and on our automated build system (see the packages at https://packages.macports.org/libgcc45/) so this points to a problem on your systems.
