git-flow-avh installation fails, checksum error for gitflow-1.8.0.tar.gz

Reported by: jefft@… Owned by: gorticus (Jason Mitchell)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.3.4
Keywords: Cc:
Port: git-flow-avh

Description

Hi, the rmd160 and sha256 checksums in the git-flow-avh Portfile are not correct. I have attached a diff file that contains updated checksums that allow the installation of git-flow-avh to succeed.

Just changing the checksums is seldom correct. Why were they incorrect? See wiki:PortfileRecipes#stealth-updates for some more information and suggestions.

Hi, I read the section for stealth updates, but I can't answer why the checksums are different than what is specified in the git-flow-avh Portfile. I simply downloaded the distfile gitflow-1.8.0.tar.gz and computed the rmd160 and sha256 checksums, updated the Portfile locally, and was then able to successfully build/install git-flow-avh. Wish I could be of more help!

I just verified it (git-flow-avh @1.8.0_2 on macports 2.3.4) works for me on 10.10.5. Not sure what the weirdness is. I noticed when I sudo port -v checksum git-flow-avh it reports a checksum mismatch, even though it will install just fine. I recall having to do something different to get the hashes working, but it's been so long, I forget what that was ...

There has been an update, as well as issues w/ the base nvie git-flow (#49539). I'll see if I can address both issue in an update.

Try the patch provided in #49655.

Replying to jason-macports@…:

That would be understandable, if you received a prebuilt binary archive from our server when you installed.

Assuming #49655 took care of this, good to close?
