Description
arpack(-ng) received a major bug fix starting with version @3.3.0 , that replaces a temporary fix in version 3.2.0 (https://github.com/opencollab/arpack-ng/blob/master/CHANGES). The current upstream version is @3.4.0. Version 3.1.5 as available with macports is known to return eigenvalues and vectors in the incorrect order in many cases when called with 'rvec=true'. This is significant as many uses of arpack require just 1 or 2 extremal eigenvalues and vectors, leading to unreliable results.

Fixed in r143723. Version 3.4.0 has not been tagged yet on github, so I'm guessing it's not officially released yet.

The update to 3.3.0 has been implemented, and version 3.4.0 has not been scheduled for release. So I am closing this one as fixed.
In the future, please Cc the port maintainers (
port info --maintainers arpack), if any.
