p5-sgmlspm: not indexed by metacpan

Description

I need some help with p5-sgmlspm. I wanted to switch to metacpan for livecheck, but that one doesn't index sgmlspm.

It seems that CPAN removed the old versions and the new version is not officially authorized (whatever that means, it has big bold red warnings all over the place).

The "most information" I got was from

Can you please help me figure out why the port is missing on metacpan?

After poking around a bit, AFAICT, it's not indexed BECAUSE it's unauthorized. The 1.1 update was done by someone who has authority to upload to PAUSE but is not the original author and module ownership has not been transfered to him nor has he been added as a comaintainer. The original owner has the primary authority to make these changes but may be AWOL. In this case, it's possible to make a case to the PAUSE admins to make the changes but I assume no one ever bothered to do any of this. A breach of PAUSE etiquette.

BTW, the earlier releases aren't completely gone, they have just been moved to backpan under the original author's ID.

Bottom line is that this is one of those cases where search.cpan.org works better than metacpan.org but no one knows exactly how it's done :-) .

What do you want to do about this? I'm of the opinion that as long as the module is available in CPAN, we can fetch it and it's not causing problems with other modules, we should just let it be.
