qt5-qtwebengine @5.6.1: No files have been installed in the destroot directory!

Description

For installing ' py34-pyqt5' i need to install the decency 'qt5-qtwebengine '

after: sudo port install qt5-qtwebengine

i get the following errors…

sudo port install qt5-qtwebengine

--->  Staging qt5-qtwebengine into destroot
Error: No files have been installed in the destroot directory!
Error: Please make sure that this software supports 'make install DESTDIR=${destroot}' or implement an alternative destroot mechanism in the Portfile.

Error: org.macports.destroot for port qt5-qtwebengine returned: Staging qt5-qtwebengine into destroot failed

i want to see what the log file says but i have no directory '/opt/local/var/macports/ ' So i also can't add this to this ticket

I run macbook 2008 late with OSX 10.8.5 Don't know if this also happens at other versions of OSX

Summary: qt5-qtwebengine 5.6.1 No desroot directoryqt5-qtwebengine @5.6.1: No files have been installed in the destroot directory!

This was not a clean build attempt. Please sudo port clean qt5-qtwebengine, then try again.

You must have a directory /opt/local/var/macports; MacPorts cannot function without it. It's possible it's hidden in the Finder. You can select Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu to get to it, or use the Terminal.

Sorry for not following the clean build attempt… I tried to follow it.

I cleaned up the qt5-qtwebengine. after that i reinstallit as you said. But same result as before.

Resolution: wontfix
Status: newclosed

Unfortunately, I have not been able to get qtwebengine 5.6 to work on OS X 10.8.
qt55-qtwebengine supports 10.8, but that would require you to completely reinstall Qt and have all Qt components remain at version 5.5.

At the very least, I will improve the error message.
