It would be very useful if two variants were added to the xterm package:

variant utf8 {

configure.args-append --enable-luit --enable-wide-chars

}

variant utmp {

configure.args-append --with-utmp-setgid=daemon --with-utempter

}

Wide character support was added to the base port and a utmp variant also added in r41014.
