I am a Google Summer of Code participant and a Computer Science student at the ​University of Wisconsin.

Here is a synopsis of my project:

The lack of a built-in system to log installation and build problems is a significant barrier to implementation of an automated package build system. Additionally, a centralized system for handling problems recorded by a logging system is necessary to efficiently facilitate bug assignments and tracking.

Therefore over the summer of 2008 I will work to implement a logging facility as introduced in jmpp's proposal, as well as possibly assist in extending MPWA to handle error reports submitted by users.
