Message:
  • Change maintainer of the howl port to me, and alter the portfile to suite my style better.
  • Back out framework stuff; further changes to howl.pc.in were required. See bug #2829.
  • Provide two functions required by gnome-vfs and not provided in the Darwin version of howl. See bug #2769.

     12long_description        Howl is a cross-platform implementation of Zeroconf \
     13                        networking. \
14                        Branded as Rendezvous(tm) by Apple Computer, Inc., \
15                        Zeroconf standardizes networking protocols for \
     16                        delivering hassle-free ad-hoc networking, service \
17                        discovery and IP configuration. This ease of use, \
18                        enjoyed by users of Mac OS X, is now available as an \
19                        SDK for Windows 2000/XP and many flavors of Unix. Howl \
20                        allows software developers to easily embed Zeroconf \
21                        functionality in their applications, making cumbersome \
22                        and error-prone network configuration tasks seem so \
23                        five minutes ago. Give your users what they want. Give \
24                        them simple, elegant networking. Give them Howl.
