#51624 OpenCV fails to build with +contrib +python27 options stromnov@… defect new Normal
Description

When trying to install opencv with the +contrib option, it looks like the Portfile is trying to download the wrong filename from the server. It tries to download "3.1.0.zip", but the file is actually called "opencv-3.1.0.zip". I tried editing the Portfile to correct this, but then I get a build failure because the extract function doesn't work. I've attached the main.log from the command 'port install opencv +contrib +python27' with our mirror name removed.

Fresh install of macports on a fresh 10.11

I have installed other ports successfully so far, and emacs-app-devel appares in port info, but installing with -vvv hangs at "fetching distfiles" upon inspecting the urls present in the log, there is no entry for emacs-app-devel.

#51618 glfw @3.2: install_name is not set properly michaelld@… defect closed Normal
Description

I just updated to GLFW 3.2 release from the previous one. Now when building my project, even when using pkg-config to get the correct library directories, the resulting binary points to

lib/libglfw.3.dylib (compatibility version 3.0.0, current version 3.2.0)

When obviously, it should point to

'/opt/local/lib'

pkg-config gives the correct info:

pkg-config --libs glfw3
-L/opt/local/lib -lglfw

And linkin works, but when I try to run my resulting binary,

dyld: Library not loaded: lib/libglfw.3.dylib
  Referenced from: /Users/sakari/dvl/geometrify/geometrify/src/build/geometrify
  Reason: image not found
fish: “build/geometrify -s scripts/t...” terminated by signal SIGTRAP (Trace or breakpoint trap)

I can fix this temporarily easily of course, but I have no idea why this happens, maybe the path is wrong in the build process ?

#51609 ldas-tools: update to 2.5.0, split into separate ports ed.maros@… update closed Normal
Description

ldas-tools 2.5.0 was released in April 2016, and has been split into separate projects. So we probably need separate ports now for the different projects:

  • ldas-tools-al
  • ldas-tools-diskcacheAPI
  • ldas-tools-filters
  • ldas-tools-frameAPI
  • ldas-tools-framecpp
  • ldas-tools-ldasgen
  • ldas-tools-utilities

To assist users in upgrading to this new multiple-port suite, the existing ldas-tools port could become a meta port that only installs a readme file and declares dependencies on all the other ports. The new ports which actually install the files will need to use the deactivate hack to deactivate any already-installed ldas-tools <= 2.4.2 port.

Adding these separate projects as subports of the ldas-tools port, instead of creating separate portfiles, might be worthwhile, since some code, like the homepage, master_sites, livecheck, and deactivate hack, could be shared.

#51605 Hugin App bundles not finding binaries mcalhoun@… defect assigned Normal
Description

On Mac OS 10.10.5, hugin-app creates app bundles in the MacPorts folder. The command-line tools, naturally, are in /opt/local/bin. However, when launching processes using the GUI apps, the program looks for the command line tools in the same location as the GUI apps by default. Now, while I've been able to correct this via the preferences inside hugin for enblend and enfuse, I can't seem to correct this for nona and exiftool.

I've been able to bypass the problem for nona by creating a symlink from where the GUI is looking (/Applications/MacPorts/PTBatchGUI.app/Contents/MacOS/nona) to where nona actually is (/opt/local/bin/nona), but said solution is likely to be fragile and break when MacPorts updates hugin in the future.

Something similar seems to be occuring with exiftool, which is installed as /opt/local/bin/exiftool-5.22 (i.e. the PERL versionnumber is appended). However, in this case the log file isn't descriptive enough for me to tell where it's looking for exiftool so I don't know where to put the symlink to get around this (/usr/local/bin doesn't work).

When I reported this(https://answers.launchpad.net/hugin/+question/294894) to the hugin developers, I got the following response:

In our CMake build system there are 2 possibilities to build on Mac:

  1. A *nix way: Here the tools are installed and search in a fixed path, which is given during building. (For the external tools, like enblend, enfuse, exiftool, also the PATH environment variable is taken into account to search for the program.)
  2. Building an OS/X bundle. In this case all the tools are bundled into a bundled and searched in the bundled.

Here it sounds there is something mixed up. I don't know what the MacPort maintainer do to build it (which patches are applied and with which options it is build). So please report your problems to the MacPort maintainers.

#51603 geant4.10.2 data and geant4make.sh conflict on OSX mojca@… defect closed Normal
Description

Datatasets for geant4.10.2 have been updated and this has been included in geant4make.sh

export G4RADIOACTIVEDATA="cd $geant4make_root/../../Data/Geant4.10.2/RadioactiveDecay4.3.1 > /dev/null ; pwd" export G4ENSDFSTATEDATA="cd $geant4make_root/../../Data/Geant4.10.2/G4ENSDFSTATE1.2.1 > /dev/null ; pwd"

However, when geant 4.10.2 is installed with macports, the data downloaded contains the old version of these files, RadioactiveDecay4.3 and G4ENSDFSTATE1.2. The new versions are not in the installed dataset.

Therefore, running "source /opt/local/share/Geant4/Geant4-10.2.1/geant4make/geant4make.sh" does not set these globals correctly, and any programs needing those globals fail when one tries to execute then.

#51600 hdf4, hdf5, hdf5-18: h4cc, h5cc, h5c++, h5cc-18, h5c++-18 contain directives to use ccache takeshi@… defect closed Normal
Description

I use ccache on my system. (I set configure_ccache yes in macports.conf.) As a consequence of this, /opt/local/bin/h4cc contains references to ccache:

CCBASE="ccache /usr/bin/clang"
CLINKERBASE="ccache /usr/bin/clang"

This causes ports (such as hdfeos) that want to use hdf4 to fail to build with an error message:

configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables

and in config.log:

ccache: error: Failed to create temporary file for /opt/local/var/macports/build/.ccache/3/stats.tmp: Operation not permitted

hdf4 should not bake directives to use ccache into its files, nor, ideally, should it bake a reference to a specific compiler. Instead, ports should respect the values of configure.compiler and configure.ccache.

#51582 Error: org.macports.checksum for port t4k_common returned: Unable to verify file checksums macports-tickets@… defect new Normal
Description

Thanks for MacPorts. It's wonderful software. I think I found a bug though. I see some older (closed) tickets for things related to this, but no current tickets. I did "Clean and try again" with the following:

$ sudo port selfupdate
$ sudo port upgrade outdated
$ sudo port clean --all t4k_common
$ sudo port -v checksum t4k_common

I checked the Problem Hotlist. And I did a Search to see if a Trac ticket has already been filed (which is how I noticed some older closed tickets related to this).

which takes me to a page that reads in part:

Hope this ticket helps resolve the problem.

Since I'm testing perl 5.24, I installed subversion-perlbindings-5.24, but that's conflicting with "git +svn" that wants to install subversion-perlbindings-5.22.

May I please request an additional variant for perl 5.24 support?

See also #51436 (I doubt the problem is specific to perl 5.24 though, but I didn't test).

Configuring qgis (with vriants +grass +postgresql95) fails because "QCA OpenSSL plugin not found". Similar problems have been reported in ticket #50486 and #50496. In contrast to #50486 I did not experience any problems in building qca-ossl. I am working under Yosemite 10.10.5 with macports 2.3.4 (latest version).

After selfupdate I forced unistallation of qca-ossl, qca and qwt61, cleand everything and tried to build again. Unfortunately in vain.

The main log of the failed build process is attached.

I'd appreciate any hint, how to solve the problem very much. Best, Felix

Then called install and it proceeded with warnings

..finished building and cleaned up.

I am not sure, but the conversions may be safe.

I am personally a bit fuzzy on the different compiler features but gcc tells me:

Warnings about conversions between signed and unsigned integers can be disabled by using -Wno-sign-conversion.

I haven't tested yet, but it seems good.

I am attaching the main.log

#51546 octave @4.0.2: octave build triggers installation of texlive packages even though MacTeX is installed mcalhoun@… defect closed Normal
Description

Building the octave port in its default variant triggers the installation of the following texlive ports:

However, their installation should not be necessary as long as MacTeX is installed and configured in the PATH.

The installation of texlive-basic, texlive-latex, and texlive-fonts-recommended hides effectively the MacTeX installation so that compiling more complex LaTeX documents suddenly generates lots of errors as packages/fonts installed by MacTeX are not found anymore.

#51529 Request select port for py-jupyter and subcommands stromnov@… enhancement new Normal
Description

Hi everybody, this is my first ticket, so be soft.

Thanks to all the mantainers for the hard work!

The py-jupyter has two subport currently , namely py27-jupyter,py34-jupyter and py35-jupyter and no selector was implemented.

That's true for all jupyter related commands: py-jupyter, py-jupyter_client, py-jupyter_console, py-jupyter_core

In general it is not a big deal, but trying to install stuff depending on jupyter commands ( widget extension ) is a pain, see last answer here > https://github.com/ipython-contrib/IPython-notebook-extensions/issues/313

Cheers.

#51528 openvpn2: passwordsave variant macports-tickets@… enhancement new Normal
Description

Some OpenVPN servers (particular Sophos UTM and Mikrotik) are configured to authenticate with a user/password combination either in addition to or instead of the TLS certificate. By default openvpn2 requires the user to enter this username/password on the console every time the VPN starts.

For about 10 years openvpn2 has had an option to load these details from a file instead of entering them on the console on each run ("auth-user-pass FILENAME"). However to use this feature openvpn2 must be built with "--enable-password-save". Without that configure time option (eg, default MacPorts), trying to use this feature results in:

Tue May 31 15:41:05 2016 Sorry, 'Auth' password cannot be read from a file

The attached trivial patch adds a variant "+passwordsave" which enables compiling with "--enable-password-save":

ewen@ashram:/usr/local/ports$ port variants openvpn2
openvpn2 has the variants:
   passwordsave: Build with --enable-password-save
   universal: Build for multiple architectures
ewen@ashram:/usr/local/ports$

After configuring for local ports, the patched version of the Portfile was tested with:

portindex -f
sudo port install -k openvpn2 +passwordsave

and then "auth-user-pass FILENAME" works. (To reduce the security risk the referenced file with the username/password should be "chmod +400" or similar, and ideally the password should only be used for the VPN credentials (as it is stored in plain text); I'm not sure how strictly OpenVPN checks the file permissions.)

Obviously this is not ideal for a shared system, and so it should not be the default. But on a single-user workstation, interacting frequently with VPN servers that rely on the client storing the VPN credentials, it might be an acceptable tradeoff.

Please consider merging this patch to add the optional variant, so MacPort users have the option of enabling this feature if it is appropriate for their environment.

Ewen

#51521 matplotlib crash on Mac OS X.5 PPC sean@… defect closed Normal
Description

With python3.5 and py35-matplotlib @1.5.1_3+cairo as installed by Macports, the following minimal code :

import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
import numpy as np
plt.figure()
x=np.linspace(1,2)
plt.plot(x,x**2)
plt.savefig('sqr.pdf')

gives the following error :

machdep: class is not implemented
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'char*'
Abort trap

This happens on a Mac OS X.5 PPC computer, and is likely PPC related : the bug does not happen on an Intel Machine. The bug does also not happen with py34-matplotlib @1.3.1_4 (although the warning 'machdep: class is not implemented' is issued, the script does not crash and the expected figure is saved).

Note that I reported another bug (closed: wontfix) with Matplotlib 1.4.x on ticket:48727. I guess I'm stuck with matplotlib 1.3 for the future :-(

#51520 llvm-3.9 @3.9-r270400_0+assertions+debug build failure on snow leopard due to missing strnlen function - and fix jeremyhu@… defect new Normal
Description

Sorry I haven't figured out the diff files just yet.

llvm-3.9 build fails at 12% and then at 98% with error strnlen function not found

to fix:

in this file

/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_lang_llvm-3.9/llvm-3.9/work/trunk/lib/ObjectYAML/MachOYAML.cpp

and in this file

/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_lang_llvm-3.9/llvm-3.9/work/trunk/tools/obj2yaml/macho2yaml.cpp

add this replacement function after <string.h> and build succeeds

(found an example in the cctools patches):

static size_t
strnlen(const char *s, size_t maxlen)
{
	size_t len;

	for (len = 0; len < maxlen; len++, s++) {
		if (!*s)
			break;
	}
	return (len);
}
#51517 Cadabra Installation Issues macports-tickets@… defect closed Normal
Description

I posted a ticket previously (#51382), that I seem to have lost the ability to post comments to at this point. I'm making a new ticket, and I am also attaching the main.log file. I believe I have the correct file this time. If I don't, please let me know how to.

I can't install Cadabra for some unknown reason. I cleaned and even reinstalled macports completely with fully updated xcode on my mac without success.

Assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

#51511 Fetch failures for kdenlive macports-tickets@… defect closed Normal
Description

Hi,

I am trying to install kdenlive on a Mac / OSX running El-capitan. (version 10.11.4). port fails to get the dependencies, but when I install them separately (one by one) it works.

For example fetching llvm-3.3 [1], so it seems host names can't be resolved. Installing the dependency by hand works fine. (sudo port install llvm-3.3).

What could be the issue? (DNS related it seems).
Thx Christophe

#51504 codesigning portgroup macports-tickets@… enhancement new Normal
Description

We had a very short discussion about some kind of support for code-signing, somewhere last week.

I have since remembered that KDE PIM applications have a habit of causing do you want application akonadi_foo_agent to accept incoming connections unless they're signed even by a self-signed key.

I've thus whipped up a very rudimentary PortGroup to provide a codesign procedure that is a priori to be called during the post-activate. The principle is simple: if ${prefix}/etc/macports/codesign-identify.tcl exists, the procedure attempts to read a variable identity from it which must be a non-empty string . If that succeeds, all files passed in the argument(s) to codesign are signed, one by one.

I don't really have any suggestions how to handle errors during this operation, so I'm just ignoring them.

There is of course a rather evident source of error here: signing identities correspond to a certificate that must be stored in a keychain on the calling user's keychain list. It turns out that even with macportsuser set to myself (I know, bad) my regular signing identity isn't found, not even when I invoke the procedure from a Portfile "root" (to test with port info foo). I don't understand why that is (it is found when I sudo codesign -s identity ...) . It might thus be necessary to store the key in the/a system keychain and instruct codesign to use that chain? Other than that the procedure works, using set identity "-" to sign with an ad-hoc key.

This is not a network issue as each of the ports dependencies install perfectly.

#51489 build progress indicator macports-tickets@… enhancement closed Normal
Description

Certain build systems provide a progress indication in their output; this seems to be the default with CMake at least when using the "Unix Makefiles" and Ninja generators.

It'd be nice if the non-verbose build phase showed this progress like progress is shown during the fetch phase. I don't really have any ideas how to implement this at the moment, but there is at least the KDevelop IDE (the KF5 version) which has a filter somewhere that extracts progress information from make (and ninja) output.

#51472 pspp port includes libglade2 as dependency - added relocation build variant (PATCH) snc@… enhancement closed Normal
Description

Hi Jeremy,

the pspp port package includes the libglade2 port dependency, but this is not required for building and running. I removed the dependency in the attached patch for the pspp portfile

I looked into making a pspp application bundle that can be installed like a usual bundle. A prerequisite for this is to configure pspp with --enable-relocatable.

My idea to produce the bundle is to derive it from the macports pspp package and to use gtk-mac-bundler to make it relocatable. But I still need to have the --enable-relocatable configuration setting the package. Therefore I added the variant "reloc" which adds this configuration switch.

Would you mind adding this variant to the pspp portfile? This change is also in the patch.

The bundle generation would be outside macports via a script. I think about adding the script and gtk-mac-bundler configuration files to the pspp source.

#51452 nco @4.5.2_2 +accelerate build failure takeshi@… defect new Normal
Description

nco@4.5.2_2 has failed to build on both OS X 10.9.5 with Xcode 6.2 and OS X 10.10.5 with Xcode 7.2.1. Both have Command Line Tools installed. The failure/error is the same in both cases. The pertinent error appears to be:

:info:build ncap_lex.l:60:10: fatal error: 'ncap_yacc.h' file not found

This surprises me, because the "nap_yacc.h" file is sitting there in the src/nco directory:

Fri May 20 11:11:14 pixie local> find . -name ncap_* -print
./var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_science_nco/nco/work/nco-4.5.5/src/nco/ncap_lex.c

So I changed to the src/nco directory and entered the same command which failed and generated the error message:

sudo /usr/bin/clang -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../..   -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include -I/usr/include/malloc -I/opt/local/include/udunits2 -I/opt/local/include -DENABLE_NETCDF4 -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include/udunits2  -fno-common -pipe -Os -arch x86_64 -std=c99 -D_BSD_SOURCE  -c -o ncap_lex.o ncap_lex.c

this quickly successfully built the "ncap_lex.o" file

I then issued the initial "port install nco" command, and the build finished and nco was installed and activated:

Fri May 20 11:11:52 pixie local> sudo port install nco +accelerate

--->  Updating database of binaries
---> Scanning binaries for linking errors
--->  No broken files found.

I don't understand why the "ncap_yacc.h" header file was not recognized during the build, as it is right there with the other source files.

#ifdef __APPLE__
extern "C++" {
#endif

This causes a problems when trying to build octave with GCC:

Why forced C++ linkage is needed (but only on Macs) is not clear to me.
I have posted a question on the upstream mailing list, but so far, no response.

I have attached a patch that seems to fix the problem, but it seems a little dangerous without knowing why it was done in the first place.

#51435 orfeotoolbox new release stromnov@… update new Normal
Description

Dear OTB maintainer,

I'm trying to install orfeotoolbox from macports with no success. I've tried modifying the portfile so that it installs 5.4.0, but I get the following..

Firstly in debug mode it is stated that "No Jpeg2000 driver found (compatible drivers are : OpenJpeg, Kakadu, ECW).", though I have OpenJPEG installed and have temporarily deactivated openjpeg15.
It then goes on to the following error before stoping

-- GDAL doesn't have HDF5 drivers. (HDF5 tests will be deactivated)
-- Check if Gdal qualifies for Orfeo ToolBox -- yes.
--   Version : 2.0.2
--   Drivers for JPEG 2000 :
CMake Warning at CMake/FindOpenThreads.cmake:99 (message):

  Modules/ThirdParty/OpenThreads/otb-module-init.cmake:1 (find_package)
  CMake/OTBModuleEnablement.cmake:356 (include)
  CMakeLists.txt:262 (include)

I, therefore, am very keen to know when a new macport for orfeotoolbox 5.4 is likely to be available, or whether their is a known issue/work around the error I'm getting in my portfile.

Many thanks. Stefan
