#42960 p5-net-http: update to 6.06 l2g@… update new Normal

Reported by jpenney@…, 5 weeks ago.

Description

The current p5-net-http 6.10 installs Net::HTTP 6.01 (17 Apr 2011), which isn't compatible with the current p5-libwww-perl 6.50, which installs libwww-perl 6.05 (11 Mar 2013). I'm getting errors like:

Undefined subroutine &LWP::Protocol::http::Socket::can_read

This patch upgrades to Net::HTTP to the latest version, 6.06 (10 Mar 2013), which solves the issue.

#42943 BUG: mysql56 isn't UsingTheRightCompiler pixilla@… defect closed Normal

Reported by mcalhoun@…, 5 weeks ago.

Description

mysql56 isn't UsingTheRightCompiler.
Apparently, clang was causing some sort of problem is 32-bit mode.
They decided to disallow clang in the file CMakeLists.txt with the comment

# Possibly temporary fix: Clang on 32 bit causes non-debug server to crash

See http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mysql/mysql-server/5.6/revision/4223.1.4

The commit message indicated a "Need to investigate further," but as of 3/19/2014, the "temporary fix" is still there (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mysql/mysql-server/5.7/view/head:/CMakeLists.txt)

Attached is a patch with possible solutions.

#42938 BUG: mysql56 fails to build universal on Mavericks pixilla@… defect closed Normal

Reported by mcalhoun@…, 5 weeks ago.

Description

r114637 fixed #40865, but I think it may have fixed it twice.
I believe this code is unnecessary

    if {[string match *clang* ${configure.cxx}] &&
              ${os.major} >= 13} {

        configure.args-append \
                        -DCMAKE_CXX_FLAGS:STRING="-stdlib=libstdc++"
    }

since upgrading to 5.6.15 (https://dev.mysql.com/doc/relnotes/mysql/5.6/en/news-5-6-15.html) was sufficient.

I do not know if there is any other reason to use libstdc++, but setting CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS breaks the universal build because cmake then ignores CXXFLAGS, which is is where -arch is set.

If libstdc++ is still needed, may I suggest that the following would allow the universal build to continue to work.

    if {[string match *clang* ${configure.cxx}] &&
              ${os.major} >= 13} {

        configure.cxxflags-append \
                        -stdlib=libstdc++
    }

I have attached both possible fixes.

The new PCB release 20140316 is available. See http://pcb.geda-project.org/news.html#20140316 for details.

Updating version and "checksums":http://sourceforge.net/projects/pcb/files/pcb/pcb-20140316/pcb-20140316.cksum/download in the Portfile works for me with Mac OS X 10.9.2.

The new release also resolves an issue with Gerber exports in locales not using the dot as decimal separator.

#42915 [Port Abandoned] swig* kevin@… enhancement closed Normal

Reported by michaelld@…, 5 weeks ago.

Description

Person email to "kevin@…" dated 2014-02-10 to update SWIG to 2.0.12. This email was never acknowledged, nor was SWIG updated.

Ticket #42911, to update SWIG to 3.0.0, filed Tuesday, 2014-03-18.

Quick search for "kevin@…" turns up no emails to MacPorts lists, nor replies to tickets, going back at least 3 years if not longer. I can find a commit by "kevin" to SWIG about 9 years ago; all more recent commits are not by kevin.

"port list maintainers:kevin" shows ownership of just the SWIG* ports (single Portfile with multiple subports), which I will take over if no reply by 2014-03-21 @ Noon US/ET.

#42914 ntop @5.0.1_2 doesn't create ntop user, causes launchd task to always fail markd@… defect new Normal

Reported by macports@…, 5 weeks ago.

Description

A standard install of ntop doesn't create the system ntop user. The result is that the standard launchd plist doesn't launch, with the following error in the logs:

Attempting to run the command defined in the plist file the following happens:

#42913 llvm_select @0.2: some binaries in llvm-3.3 do not get symlinks made to them jeremyhu@… enhancement new Normal

Reported by egall@…, 5 weeks ago.

Description

Specifically, these ones are missing symlinks to them:

llvm-mcmarkup-mp-3.3
llvm-stress-mp-3.3
llvm-symbolizer-mp-3.3

Of the 3, having an un-suffixed llvm-symbolizer in /opt/local/bin would be the most useful to me, as then I could set ASAN_SYMBOLIZER_PATH to /opt/local/bin/llvm-symbolizer regardless of which version of llvm I have selected. I am putting this as an "enhancement" instead of a "defect" because it is rather minor and not really that much of a problem.

#42911 Update SWIG to 3.0.0 kevin@… update closed Normal

Reported by michaelld@…, 5 weeks ago.

Description

http://sourceforge.net/p/swig/news/2014/03/swig-300-released/

A quick test looks like we can just update the version and checksums:

version                3.0.0
checksums           rmd160  2bd3c3ec9bd36b5256f4fe5104fc728bda78aac2 \
                    sha256  99cab1055877d00280509f0e04c1fe76643ec3792e9b8e7efcc9aa6e247229df

Also, I'll add myself as a co-maintainer, if Kevin does not mind.

The GNU Radio port hacks SWIG 2.0.11 to work with C++11. SWIG 2.0.12 and newer (3.0.0 for now) update fixes the C++11 usage in SWIG, so I'll need to remove my SWIG hack once this port is updated.

#42880 oracle-instantclient: don't create oradiag_username directory ryandesign@… enhancement assigned Normal

Reported by luke.krasnoff@…, 6 weeks ago.

Description

The default behaviour of oracle-instantclient is to create a directory structure in ${HOME}/oradiag_${USER} for Oracle 11g. If you look at the sqlnet.log file deep inside that directory, it is looking to write logging information into /opt/local/lib/oracle/log. Doing an internet search shows that people have been complaining to Oracle about this problem for years. The issue is that libraries should not be writing to the file system without the developers consent.

It is obvious that Oracle either doesn't agree that this is a problem, or doesn't intend to fix this behaviour. In view of this, a possible solution in this port, is to install an sqlnet.ora file in the $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin directory of oracle-instantclient. So the path would be:

/opt/local/lib/oracle/network/admin/sqlnet.ora

The contents of sqlnet.ora would be:

DIAG_ADR_ENABLED = OFF
TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT = OFF
TRACE_DIRECTORY_CLIENT=/dev/null
LOG_DIRECTORY_CLIENT = /dev/null
LOG_FILE_CLIENT = /dev/null
LOG_LEVEL_CLIENT = OFF

I would suggest that an sqlnet.ora file be installed as part of oracle-instantclient, so that by default there would be no logging. This could be modified later by the developer if logging was desired.

#42852 MacPorts installation sets $DISPLAY=:0 in .bashrc macports-tickets@… defect closed Normal

Reported by Norbert.Marwan@…, 6 weeks ago.

Description

After installing MacPorts I found a new line in .bashrc setting the $DISPLAY variable to :0. This is highly problematic because the Xorg server sometimes creates a new display port (e.g. :1). In this case, X applications will not be able to work because the DISPLAY was set to :0 and an annoying "unable to open display at :0" error appears. MacPort should not set the DISPLAY variable to :0. If it is necessary to set it then the port needs to be set dynamically, depending on the used display port of the currently running X server.

#42843 dmalloc @5.5.2 +universal: dylibs are not actually universal toby@… defect closed Normal

Reported by egall@…, 6 weeks ago.

Description

I have the +universal variant active:

Local-Admins-MacBook-Pro:~ ericgallager$ port installed dmalloc
The following ports are currently installed:
  dmalloc @5.5.2_0+universal (active)

but only some the files that it installs are actually universal:

Local-Admins-MacBook-Pro:~ ericgallager$ port -q contents dmalloc | xargs /usr/bin/file
/opt/local/bin/dmalloc:               Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures
/opt/local/bin/dmalloc (for architecture x86_64):	Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64
/opt/local/bin/dmalloc (for architecture i386):	Mach-O executable i386
/opt/local/include/dmalloc.h:         ASCII c program text
/opt/local/lib/libdmalloc.a:          Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures
/opt/local/lib/libdmalloc.a (for architecture x86_64):	current ar archive random library
/opt/local/lib/libdmalloc.a (for architecture i386):	current ar archive random library

double-checking with lipo -info shows similar results:

Local-Admins-MacBook-Pro:~ ericgallager$ port -q contents dmalloc | xargs /usr/bin/file | grep "Mach-O" | cut -d: -f1 | cut -d\  -f1 | uniq | xargs lipo -info

Architectures in the fat file: /opt/local/lib/libdmallocthcxx.a are: x86_64 i386
Architectures in the fat file: /opt/local/lib/libdmallocxx.a are: x86_64 i386
Non-fat file: /opt/local/lib/libdmalloc.dylib is architecture: x86_64
Non-fat file: /opt/local/lib/libdmallocth.dylib is architecture: x86_64
Non-fat file: /opt/local/lib/libdmallocthcxx.dylib is architecture: x86_64
Non-fat file: /opt/local/lib/libdmallocxx.dylib is architecture: x86_64

This makes it difficult to make other ports with +universal variants build properly against dmalloc.

#42837 Error Staging into Destroot for python26 and others. mcalhoun@… defect new Normal

Reported by design_by_xs@…, 6 weeks ago.

Description

Problem installing python 26 (and thus, jailkit)

Before opening this ticket, I did the following:

sudo port selfupdate
sudo port -u upgrade outdated
sudo port clean

When I try to install jailkit, the instller comes to configuring python 26, and fails with this error:

Error: org.macports.destroot for port python26 returned: command execution failed
Please see the log file for port python26 for details:
    /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_lang_python26/python26/main.log

I then ran:

sudo ports clean --all installed
sudo port selfupdate
sudo ports -u upgrade

(Returned: Nothing to upgrade.)

I ran sudo port install python26 (again). --- Log attached. ---

I've encountered other similar problems, staging tools into destroot. System Info: XServe Xeon 2.8Ghz, running OSX 10.5.8.

When I try to do:

which install-info

The returned info is:

/usr/bin/install-info

The problem that I primarily see is that python is returning an error of:

:info:destroot: file is not of required architecture

I next tried to do this:

sudo port install python26 -arch x86_64

and

sudo port install python26 -arch i386

I was hoping that using the arch switch might help.

Note: I did not migrate from another system: The OS install was done on this machine.

What can anyone tell me on how to fix this?

#42831 OpenGTL macports-tickets@… request new Normal

Reported by macports@…, 6 weeks ago.

Description

In the tarball for OpenGTL 0.9.18, CMakeLists.txt says that llvm 3.0, 3.1, or 3.2 are required. I don’t know if that’s really up-to-the minute information; maybe it would compile with 3.3 or 3.4 if that cmake test were updated. So far I’ve been unable to get it to select/recognize the acceptable installed version of llvm.

#42823 openmpi-default missing declared dependency on gnutar; system gnutar does not exit macports-tickets@… defect closed Normal

Reported by andrewhw@…, 6 weeks ago.

Description

openmpi-default fails in its compilation due to an error on /usr/bin/gnutar being not found.

The gnutar utility is not installed in /usr/bin at all. Installing the gnutar port and placing a symlink in /usr/bin pointing to /opt/local/bin/gnutar allows the port to be built.

Ideally, the port should either use the non-gnu tar, or use the version of gnutar from the port install, with the path to it updated accordingly in the configuration.

The immediate solutions are:

  • implementing ticket #42476 as requested;
  • disable test here, at least for Python 3.3 and 3.4 subport;

Not immediate:

  • wait for upstream solution to use unitest.mock instead;
  • patch to implement the above;

An easy bug: the Portfile for goldendict refers to the final build product as Goldendict.app instead of GoldenDict.app . As a result, installation fails on a case-sensitive filesystem. Correcting the spelling in the Portfile resolves the issue.

#42799 py27-euca2ools: Update to version 3.0.2 macports-tickets@… update closed Normal

Reported by ben@…, 6 weeks ago.

Description

Hi.

I'm an employee of Eucalyptus Systems, the creator of Euca2ools. I'd like to become the maintainer for this abandoned port, in order to update the Portfile. It hasn't been updated for over two years, and the Portfile references an ancient version of Euca2ools on Canonical Launchpad. A much newer version is available in the official Euca2ools Github repository.

Attached is the updated Portfile referring to the latest release of Euca2ools (3.0.2).

#42767 Commit email shows property changes incorrectly wsiegrist@… defect new Normal

Reported by ryandesign@…, 7 weeks ago.

Description

r117622 changed the svn:ignore property of the directory trunk/base/src/macports1.0 as follows:

Index: trunk/base/src/macports1.0
===================================================================
--- trunk/base/src/macports1.0	(revision 117621)
+++ trunk/base/src/macports1.0	(revision 117622)

Property changes on: trunk/base/src/macports1.0
___________________________________________________________________
Modified: svn:ignore
## -1,5 +1,6 ##
 *.dylib
+Makefile
 macports_autoconf.tcl
+macports_fastload.tcl
 macports_test_autoconf.tcl
-macports_fastload.tcl
 pkgIndex.tcl

This is how svn diff shows it. Trac shows it similarly. In the commit email, however, it's shown less well. The text part of the email shows it like this:

Property changes on: trunk/base/src/macports1.0
___________________________________________________________________
Modified: svn:ignore
   - *.dylib
macports_autoconf.tcl
macports_test_autoconf.tcl
macports_fastload.tcl
pkgIndex.tcl

   + *.dylib
Makefile
macports_autoconf.tcl
macports_fastload.tcl
macports_test_autoconf.tcl
pkgIndex.tcl

This is unnecessarily convoluted but is at least accurate. The HTML part, however, which is what most viewers will see in their email readers, is completely wrong:

<div id=3D"patch">
<h3>Diff</h3>
<a id=3D"trunkbasesrcmacports10"></a>
<div class=3D"propset"><h4>Property changes: trunk/base/src/macports1.0</=
h4>
<pre class=3D"diff"><span>
</span></pre></div>
<a id=3D"svnignore"></a>
<div class=3D"modfile"><h4>Modified: svn:ignore</h4></div>
<span class=3D"cx">macports_autoconf.tcl
</span><span class=3D"cx">macports_test_autoconf.tcl
</span><span class=3D"cx">macports_fastload.tcl
</span><span class=3D"cx">pkgIndex.tcl
</span><span class=3D"cx">   + *.dylib
</span><span class=3D"cx">Makefile
</span><span class=3D"cx">macports_autoconf.tcl
</span><span class=3D"cx">macports_fastload.tcl
</span><span class=3D"cx">macports_test_autoconf.tcl
</span><span class=3D"cx">pkgIndex.tcl
</span>

Note how it's an encoding of the text version, but with the first line (" - *.dylib") omitted, thereby making it unintelligible.

Is Mac OS Forge doing this deliberately, or is this just the behavior of the SVN::Notify script we're using to send emails? If the latter, are we using the latest version of SVN::Notify, 2.84? If not, could we update to that version to see if that helps?
