#51971 gmp stuck staging into Destroot mcalhoun@… defect new Normal
Description

I tried to install wget and it got stuck at gmp. So I did:
1) sudo port install selfupdate
(I was up to date)

2) sudo port clean gmp (worked fine)

--->  Cleaning gmp
---> Removing work directory for gmp

3) sudo port install -v gmp
The install always gets stuck while staging into Destroot. Here are the last few lines (I'm also attaching the complete log).

--->  Staging gmp into destroot

... more of the same ...
./share/nls/zh_TW.Big5 missing (created)
./share/skel missing (created)
./src missing (created)

At this point the install will hang for hours.My terminal window reports that xcodebuild is the currently running process and ps shows the following relevant processes:

port install is working fine for other packages (even after this).

Does anyone have any workarounds or next steps, please?

#51970 Tiff: patch to configure.ac in changeset 120378 inconsistently defines int64 and uint64 print formats ryandesign@… defect new Normal
Description

Patch to configure.ac of libtiff in changeset 120378 swaps the tests for (unsigned) long long int and (unsigned) long int before the definitions of (U)INT64_T and (U)INT64_FORMAT and accordingly swaps the definitions of (U)INT64_T but, IMHO, forgot to swap the definitions of (U)INT64_FORMAT, which leads to an inconsistency and warnings by some compilers when compiling libtiff or software which includes tiff.f from libtiff. E.g.

/usr/bin/clang -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I.   -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include -DHAVE_APPLE_OPENGL_FRAMEWORK  -pipe -Os -arch x86_64 -Wall -W -MT tif_dirread.o -MD -MP -MF .deps/tif_dirread.Tpo -c -o tif_dirread.o tif_dirread.c

when compiling libtiff with Apple LLVM version 4.2 (clang-425.0.24) (based on LLVM 3.2svn) on Mac OS 10.8.5 .

Here is attached a patch proposal which solves this issue (removes the warning).

Sundials 2.6.2 is available (macports has 2.5.0):

I started to make a patch to the portfile, but the build system is now cmake only. That plus mpi makes it a challenge for me. I might try after awhile if no one gets to it. Thanks.

Port description:

In the Spring of 2016, Walstad and Wagner released a paper suggesting that the pretest/posttest delta is insufficient in assessing learning outcomes. However, performing such a disaggregation is time intensive, especially if the questions appear in a different location (or order) on the pre and post test. WW_out is a command line tool that makes this disaggregation easy. It uses four CSV files to generate outcomes by question and student.

I opened an upstream issue as well:

    argparse._ = _ # let argparse use our translations
NameError: global name '_' is not defined

I tried to explicitly set a python from MacPorts, but that didn't really help.

Unrelated (and to be put in a separate ticket eventually): I believe that the port should do some reinplace and use the Python interpreter provided by MacPorts if you want to rely on existence of pyqt.

Description

Recently, I changed my variants on ld64-latest and cctools from whatever I used before (probably llvm33) to the new default variant (llvm38) on OS X 10.9+ (with me being on 10.9.5.)

While installing clang-3.8 as a dependency of something else, I hit this error:

-- Check for working C compiler: /opt/local/bin/clang-mp-3.7 -- broken
CMake Error at /opt/local/share/cmake-3.6/Modules/CMakeTestCCompiler.cmake:61 (message):

  dyld: Library not loaded: @executable_path/../lib/libLTO.dylib

    Referenced from: /opt/local/libexec/llvm-3.7/bin/ld

  clang: error: unable to execute command: Trace/BPT trap: 5

  clang: error: linker command failed due to signal (use -v to see
  invocation)

Further investigation revealed:

root@nopileos~# ls -ldh /opt/local/libexec/llvm-3.7/bin/ld
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root 26 Jul 27 23:42 /opt/local/libexec/llvm-3.7/bin/ld -> /opt/local/libexec/ld64/ld

So when using clang-3.7, the system-default linker as installed by ld64/the other ld64-${version} ports are used, good.

root@nopileos~# otool -L /opt/local/libexec/llvm-3.7/lib/libLTO.dylib
/opt/local/libexec/llvm-3.7/lib/libLTO.dylib:
	/opt/local/libexec/llvm-3.7/lib/libLTO.dylib (compatibility version 0.0.0, current version 0.0.0)
	/opt/local/libexec/llvm-3.7/lib/libLLVM-3.7.dylib (compatibility version 0.0.0, current version 0.0.0)
	[...]

llvm-3.7's libLTO has compat version 0.0.0, current version 0.0.0.

root@nopileos~# otool -L /opt/local/libexec/llvm-3.8/lib/libLTO.dylib
/opt/local/libexec/llvm-3.8/lib/libLTO.dylib:
	@rpath/libLTO.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 3.8.1)
	@rpath/libLLVM.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 3.8.1)
	[...]

llvm-3.8's libLTO changed the compat version to 1.0.0 and the current version to 3.8.1.

root@nopileos~# otool -L /opt/local/libexec/ld64/ld
/opt/local/libexec/ld64/ld:
	@executable_path/../lib/libLTO.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 3.8.1)
	[...]

And the binary installed by ld64-latest (and symlinked via ld64) needs compat version 1.0.0.

clang-3.7 invokes /opt/local/libexec/llvm-3.7/bin/ld, so the expanded path to the library through @executable_path is /opt/local/libexec/llvm-3.7/lib/libLTO.dylib, which has (see above) a lower compat version of 0.0.0.

Breakage.

A fix might be to not use @executable_path, but rewrite the libLTO library dependency to always use the libLTO library as installed by the selected llvm*-variant version.

I haven't looked at the source code and how difficult that would be, though.

#51905 Bear is broken on 10.11 (.5) because of Library Validation cal@… defect new Normal

When trying to run a build on OS X 10.11.5 (El Capitan), I get:

And the compile_commands.json file is empty.

Investigation led me to processRestricted() in dyld: https://opensource.apple.com/source/dyld/dyld-360.22/src/dyld.cpp

Various sources online point to System Integrity Protection (SIP), but disabling that didn't change anything. I haven't yet found a workaround

Please see enclosed build log for 10.11 (10.10 has an exactly similar build error).

This appears to be a different problem from Trac #51865, for which thanks. I've seen failures of the above form with other ports in our build set, for which the usual fix is to add +openmpi, or in one instance +openmp; but attempting to install gnudatalanguage with +openmp yields conflicts between other packages and gcc44.

Thanks in advance. Do please let me know if you require more information. Apologies for terseness and typos: shredded-fingers error.

I tried running installing dub with sudo port install dub but received an error about the build failing. On the suggestion ofthe dmd port installation, I installed druntime, phobos, and dmd-tools. I then re-ran the dub install, which succeeded. Since dub only depends on dmd, I suggest that the port be updated to include druntime, phobos, and/or dmd-tools to fix the build. I'm not sure if it requires all three or just a subset.

I'm running on OS X 10.10.5.

#51900 cotvnc: update to chicken 2.2b2 stuartwesterman@… update new Normal
Description

The cotvnc web site says it has been superseded by a new fork called chicken:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/chicken/

It might be good to update the cotvnc port to chicken version 2.2b2. chicken 2.2b2 is old, from 2011, but it's newer than cotvnc 2.0b4 which is from 2006.

Normally if a project changes names, we would rename the port (as when osxvnc changed its name to vineserver). However, we already have a port called chicken for an unrelated software package. So we could either continue to call the port cotvnc, or pick something new like chickenvnc.

#51898 gr-fosphor @20160522 build broken michaelld@… defect closed Normal
Description

Some time ago while running a sudo port update - sudo port upgrade outdated operation, I found the latest version of gr-fosphor was broken. Today I ran another update - upgrade outdated operation, and it is still broken.

As instructed, I ran sudo port -d -y rev-upgrade, and captured the output. I also tried running sudo port clean, then sudo port install gr-fosphor, and it is still broken.

This could be viewed as a duplicate of ticket #51803, but in my case, I do not have brew installed; I am only using MacPorts. Based on what I saw in ticket #51803, I also ran the following commands and captured the output:

otool -L /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/site-packages/gnuradio/fosphor/_fosphor_swig.so
otool -L /opt/local/lib/libgnuradio-fosphor.3.7.0git.dylib

I have attached a file containing the output captures from all of this. I hope this information will help resolve the problem.

As a workaround, removing --enable-phar from configure.args has worked for me.

But of course it would be better to fix the real problem. I'd be happy to help figuring out the real problem.

I added:

# https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-lilypond/2016-07/msg00071.html
# blacklist any clang compiler and any old gcc (a better expression is needed)

compiler.whitelist macports-gcc-6 macports-gcc-5 macports-gcc-4.9 macports-gcc-4.8 macports-gcc-4.7

but I'm sure there must be a better way to do it.

#51847 py-watchdog: does not build on snowleopard petr@… defect new Normal
Description

This was observed on the Snow Leopard buildbot. The fsevents extention does not build build on Snow Leopard's gcc compiler. Apparently one of the options is not supported by the compiler.

#51842 Timidity: request for a new port mojca@… submission new Normal
Description

I would like to have some software that supports MIDI files. (Quick Time 7 does that to some extent.)

Many people recommended timidity, also packaged by HomeBrew:

Just in case it's relevant (and easier to use in MP), google led me to a much simpler version of the same formula (for the same version of the software):

This is the homepage:

And the git repository:

Here's a link to sources and PPC binaries for a Cocoa GUI (which need a bit more time to look into):

#51838 gnome-sudoku build error on OSX 10.5.8 intel (i386) devans@… defect closed Low
Description

This is very small and easy to fix.

Error occurs while compiling lib/qqwing-wrapper.cpp

Probably if using later std lib there will be no issue

qqwing-wrapper.cpp: In function ‘int* qqwing_generate_puzzle(int)’:
qqwing-wrapper.cpp:50: error: ‘nullptr’ was not declared in this scope
make[1]: *** [libsudoku_la-qqwing-wrapper.lo] Error 1

nullptr is not defined, however NULL is a macro which returns a null ptr

so line 50 needs to change to:

50c50
<         srand(time(nullptr));
---
>         srand(time(NULL));
