#51718 cannot 'sudo port install libarchive' toby@… defect Normal ports
Description

Dear MacPorts Staff,

I met a problem which is when I want to install the gtk2, the information suggested that I need to install libarchive first. But I cannot install libarchive successfully, and the error information is as below,

Please see the log file for port libarchive for details:
    /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_archivers_libarchive/libarchive/main.log

and the main.log is attached. My PC is OS 10.7.5. Could you please give me any suggestions about it?

#51713 devel/ninja update and build fix macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports
Description

devel/ninja fails to build under OS X 10.11.5/Xcode 7.3.1. At some point during bootstrap, the file build.ninja is be appended to itself. Although bootstrap succeeds, subsequent rebuild with ./ninja fails since rule cxx, et al. occur twice.

Manually invoking python configure.py --bootstrap completes without errors, so it appears to be an interaction between port and python (either /usr/bin/python or MacPorts python2.7).

Unable to replicate issue under OS X 10.9.5/Xcode 6.2.

Attached is a workaround (works on both systems) and update to ninja 1.7.1. configure.py is patched to run bootstrap only. It's invoked at the configure stage. After bootstrap, the script configure then edits build.ninja to remove any redundancy.

Ninja does not appear to have an active maintainer.

#51687 ldas-tools: fix build on 10.11+ ed.maros@… defect Normal ports
Description

I know that ldas-tools is in the process of being split up into multiple packages (#51625) but there is still a bit of work to do before those split ports can be added. The current version of ldas-tools fails to build on El Capitan and the attached patch fixes this by disabling the use of the -Werror flag.

The inability to build ldas-tools is causing a lot of disruption at the moment, so can the following patch be applied so that people can make progress before the split ports are ready?

#51680 netcdf-4.4.0_3+dap+gcc6+hdf4+netcdf4 upgrade/build error takeshi@… defect Normal ports
Description

Netcdf-4.4.0_3 fails to build on Mac OSX 10.11 (Xcode 7.3.1). Initially, the error occurred upgrading to netcdf-4.4.0_3+dap+gcc49+hdf4+netcdf4+openmpi, but I simplified to the headline config with a fresh install (i.e. after "sudo port -f uninstall installed") and I still get the same problem

I am running OS X 10.11.5 and have proper installed MacPorts version 2.3.4 for El Capitan, and when I attempt to install kde4-kile, I have a long list of dependencies that will not load.

However, if I attempt each dependency individually, they will install. This would be arduous, since there are at least 50 in the list! I have looked for any previous instances/fixes for this and found none.

I do have a log file to attach.

#51661 Use of PortGroup python 1.0 macports-tickets@… enhancement Normal ports
Description

To be able to get the python configurations for the python variant that I am interested in, I have included at the top of my Portfile the PortGroup python 1.0 line.

As this sets the environment for building python modules, I have had to redefine many of the build targets such that things are appropriate from autoconf/automake.

The variable I want is: python.pkgd so I know where to install my extensions.

Is there a way to only set the python extended variables? Is there another PortGroup that I could include afterwards to reset use_configure, build.cmd, etc. back to the autoconf/automake defaults?

#51649 gnupg21 @2.1.12_0: selects +pinentry when pinentry-mac is active jann@… defect Normal ports
Description

I am running 10.11, and pinentry is not installed. I assume that the intended behavior on a modern system is to default to +pinentry_mac unless pinentry is active and pinentry-mac is not. Yet, this is what I am seeing:

% sudo port deactivate pinentry-mac
Note: It is not recommended to uninstall/deactivate a port that has dependents as it breaks the dependents.
The following ports will break: gnupg21 @2.1.13_0

I think the portfile logic that determines the presence of pinentry and pinentry-mac is incorrect. Remember that Tcl’s catch command returns zero (Tcl “false”) on success and nonzero (“true”) on error—the opposite of what Tcl conditionals expect. I think this fixes the issue:

#51647 gringo @4.5.4 does not require Boost mww@… enhancement Normal ports
Description

This patch considerably decreases the size of the package generated by "port mpkg opam", from 139MB to 8MB. OPAM depends on Gringo.

Background:

I believe the Boost dependency was removed in 4.2: https://github.com/potassco/clingo/blob/master/CHANGES#L100

Gringo may have depended on Boost otherwise for some versions after that (haven't searched the full history). But, for 4.5.4, grep -rni boost * in the Gringo source directory reveals no code using Boost.

:info:configure GnuPG v2.1.12 has been configured as follows:

I don’t know how you want to deal with this. I think it would be best to add the dependency on gnutls so that TLS is always available, but that means requiring curl +gnutls. At a minimum, the port should configure with --disable-gnutls to prevent the opportunistic behavior.

#51637 x2goclient - 4.0.5.1 update causes connection failures ionic@… defect Normal ports
Description

Since the update to 4.0.5.1

changeset:149179

my x2go client is failing to connect, giving an error window with the message

xmodmap failed to start.

This likely means the binary is not available.
The current search path is: /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin

X2Go Client will now terminate.

File a bug report as outlined on the bugs wiki page.

Reverting back to 4.0.5.0 fixes the issue.

I am using the Macports XQuartz server. Port 'xorg-server' and thus have xmodmap in my path at ${prefix}/bin/xmodmap, where my prefix is the default /opt/local

Please could x2goclient ${prefix}/bin be patched to add this to the default search path ? I think the MP x2go client should play nicely with the MP Quartz App... ;)

cheers Chris

#51618 glfw @3.2: install_name is not set properly michaelld@… defect Normal ports
Description

I just updated to GLFW 3.2 release from the previous one. Now when building my project, even when using pkg-config to get the correct library directories, the resulting binary points to

lib/libglfw.3.dylib (compatibility version 3.0.0, current version 3.2.0)

When obviously, it should point to

'/opt/local/lib'

pkg-config gives the correct info:

pkg-config --libs glfw3
-L/opt/local/lib -lglfw

And linkin works, but when I try to run my resulting binary,

dyld: Library not loaded: lib/libglfw.3.dylib
  Referenced from: /Users/sakari/dvl/geometrify/geometrify/src/build/geometrify
  Reason: image not found
fish: “build/geometrify -s scripts/t...” terminated by signal SIGTRAP (Trace or breakpoint trap)

I can fix this temporarily easily of course, but I have no idea why this happens, maybe the path is wrong in the build process ?

#51609 ldas-tools: update to 2.5.0, split into separate ports ed.maros@… update Normal ports
Description

ldas-tools 2.5.0 was released in April 2016, and has been split into separate projects. So we probably need separate ports now for the different projects:

  • ldas-tools-al
  • ldas-tools-diskcacheAPI
  • ldas-tools-filters
  • ldas-tools-frameAPI
  • ldas-tools-framecpp
  • ldas-tools-ldasgen
  • ldas-tools-utilities

To assist users in upgrading to this new multiple-port suite, the existing ldas-tools port could become a meta port that only installs a readme file and declares dependencies on all the other ports. The new ports which actually install the files will need to use the deactivate hack to deactivate any already-installed ldas-tools <= 2.4.2 port.

Adding these separate projects as subports of the ldas-tools port, instead of creating separate portfiles, might be worthwhile, since some code, like the homepage, master_sites, livecheck, and deactivate hack, could be shared.

#51600 hdf4, hdf5, hdf5-18: h4cc, h5cc, h5c++, h5cc-18, h5c++-18 contain directives to use ccache takeshi@… defect Normal ports
Description

I use ccache on my system. (I set configure_ccache yes in macports.conf.) As a consequence of this, /opt/local/bin/h4cc contains references to ccache:

CCBASE="ccache /usr/bin/clang"
CLINKERBASE="ccache /usr/bin/clang"

This causes ports (such as hdfeos) that want to use hdf4 to fail to build with an error message:

configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables

and in config.log:

ccache: error: Failed to create temporary file for /opt/local/var/macports/build/.ccache/3/stats.tmp: Operation not permitted

hdf4 should not bake directives to use ccache into its files, nor, ideally, should it bake a reference to a specific compiler. Instead, ports should respect the values of configure.compiler and configure.ccache.

#51579 git: add a variant for perl 5.24 ciserlohn@… enhancement Normal ports
Description

Since I'm testing perl 5.24, I installed subversion-perlbindings-5.24, but that's conflicting with "git +svn" that wants to install subversion-perlbindings-5.22.

May I please request an additional variant for perl 5.24 support?

See also #51436 (I doubt the problem is specific to perl 5.24 though, but I didn't test).

#51560 frozenbubble2 @2.2.0_4: Can't locate SDL/App.pm in @INC macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports
Description

Installs fine, but when I run it it doesn't launch.

Can't locate SDL/App.pm in @INC (you may need to install the SDL::App module) (@INC contains: /Volumes/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.22/darwin-thread-multi-2level /Volumes/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.22 /Volumes/local/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.22/darwin-thread-multi-2level /Volumes/local/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.22 /Volumes/local/lib/perl5/5.22/darwin-thread-multi-2level /Volumes/local/lib/perl5/5.22 .) at /Volumes/local/bin/frozen-bubble line 59.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /Volumes/local/bin/frozen-bubble line 59.

I assume the port pulled in all the proper dependencies. It's just such an addicting game I'd like to play it one day, and after weeks of googling I can't seem to find a solution. But then again it is hard to find a solution if you really don't know what the problem is. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

#51553 docker-compose python requests version sean@… defect Normal ports
Description

A current port install docker-compose will install py27-requests 2.10.0 but docker-compose requires < 2.10

I see a recent diff on the Portfile r146227 changed it from < 2.9 to < 2.10, I guess py27-requests has had another bump?

I did a hacky workaround by manually editing /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/site-packages/docker_compose-1.6.2-py2.7.egg-info/requires.txt after the install. docker-compose seems to work fine with py27-requests 2.10.0.

#51546 octave @4.0.2: octave build triggers installation of texlive packages even though MacTeX is installed mcalhoun@… defect Normal ports
Description

Building the octave port in its default variant triggers the installation of the following texlive ports:

  • texlive-basic
  • texlive-latex
  • texlive-fonts-recommended

However, their installation should not be necessary as long as MacTeX is installed and configured in the PATH.

The installation of texlive-basic, texlive-latex, and texlive-fonts-recommended hides effectively the MacTeX installation so that compiling more complex LaTeX documents suddenly generates lots of errors as packages/fonts installed by MacTeX are not found anymore.

#51521 matplotlib crash on Mac OS X.5 PPC sean@… defect Normal ports
Description

With python3.5 and py35-matplotlib @1.5.1_3+cairo as installed by Macports, the following minimal code :

import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
import numpy as np
plt.figure()
x=np.linspace(1,2)
plt.plot(x,x**2)
plt.savefig('sqr.pdf')

gives the following error :

machdep: class is not implemented
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'char*'
Abort trap

This happens on a Mac OS X.5 PPC computer, and is likely PPC related : the bug does not happen on an Intel Machine. The bug does also not happen with py34-matplotlib @1.3.1_4 (although the warning 'machdep: class is not implemented' is issued, the script does not crash and the expected figure is saved).

Note that I reported another bug (closed: wontfix) with Matplotlib 1.4.x on ticket:48727. I guess I'm stuck with matplotlib 1.3 for the future :-(

#51517 Cadabra Installation Issues macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports
Description

I posted a ticket previously (#51382), that I seem to have lost the ability to post comments to at this point. I'm making a new ticket, and I am also attaching the main.log file. I believe I have the correct file this time. If I don't, please let me know how to.

I can't install Cadabra for some unknown reason. I cleaned and even reinstalled macports completely with fully updated xcode on my mac without success.

Assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

#51511 Fetch failures for kdenlive macports-tickets@… defect Normal base
Description

Hi,

I am trying to install kdenlive on a Mac / OSX running El-capitan. (version 10.11.4). port fails to get the dependencies, but when I install them separately (one by one) it works.

For example fetching llvm-3.3 [1], so it seems host names can't be resolved. Installing the dependency by hand works fine. (sudo port install llvm-3.3).

What could be the issue? (DNS related it seems).
Thx Christophe

Error: org.macports.fetch for port py35-setuptools returned: fetch failed

Since py-setuptools was updated yesterday, the setuptools-21.2.1.tar.gz may have not made its way to all the macports mirrors.

Anyway, after downloading setuptools-21.2.1.tar.gz from https://www.versioneye.com/python/setuptools/21.2.1, everything installs fine. Should be easy to fix : it may be just of matter of waiting for setuptools-21.2.1.tar.gz to land on macports mirrors; or somehow the file was not put online and it's not too late to fix it.
