#48459 lensfun @0.3.0 update to 0.3.1 macports-tickets@… update Normal ports

Reported by help@…, 15 hours ago.

Description

lensfun-0.3.1 is out since May 10 (so more than 2 months old). Patch for docs needed refreshing, but I didn't test if it works.

#48453 erfa 1.2.0 needed for Jun 30 2015 leap second robitaille@… update Normal ports

Reported by r.keoni@…, 38 hours ago.

Description

ERFA (Essential Routines for Fundamental Astronomy) includes a static table listing the leap seconds. ERFA 1.2.0 arrived on May 28 2015, including the addition of the 2015-06-30 23:59:60 leap second. Modules depending on ERFA (e.g. astropy) need this in order to properly convert some formats, e.g. TAI <-> UTC.

A suggested Portfile (trivial update) is attached.

#48448 stunnel @5.20_0: update to 5.21 macports-tickets@… update Normal ports

Reported by mschamschula@…, 3 days ago.

Description

stunnel has been updated to version 5.21: urgency: MEDIUM

  • New features
    • Signal names are displayed instead of numbers.
    • First resolve IPv4 addresses on passive resolver requests.
    • The "make check" target was modified to only build Win32 executables when stunnel is built from a git repository
    • More elaborate descriptions were added to the warning about using "verify = 2" without "checkHost" or "checkIP".
    • Performance optimization was performed on the debug code.
  • Bugfixes
    • Fixed the FORK and UCONTEXT threading support.
    • Fixed "failover=prio" (broken since stunnel 5.15).
    • Added a retry when sleep(3) was interrupted by a signal in the cron thread scheduler.
#48446 Font problems with GTK+ applications perry@… defect Normal ports

Reported by jurgen.defurne@…, 3 days ago.

Description

After upgrading claws-mail, I could not read anything anymore, because no characters are rendered. This seems to be a general problem with GTK+ applications. As a test I installed xchat, which correctly renders text, and xchat2 which shows the same problem as claws-mail. Testing with sylpheed also gives the same problem.

#48445 hexchat +quartz: find gtk-mac-integration-gtk2 for native menus raimue@… enhancement Normal ports

Reported by elelay@…, 4 days ago.

Description

The pkgconfig has been renamed from gtk-mac-integration to gtk-mac-integration-gtk2 in the gtk-osx-application port, resulting in a package not found. Here is a patch to find it again, and to add the dependency on the port.

#48438 utimer @0.4 fails to build ryandesign@… defect Normal ports
#48435 clisp: Enable x86_64 architecture easieste@… enhancement Normal ports

Reported by raimue@…, 5 days ago.

Description

clisp @2.49_2 explicitly disables 64-bit support with the comment that it relies on 32-bit inline-asm. I just tried and it built fine for me with 64-bit. The resulting binary seems to work fine.

$ file /opt/local/bin/clisp
/opt/local/bin/clisp: Mach-O 64-bit x86_64 executable

I propose to enable this architecture in the port. Any further tests we can run to verify this is correct? (on a side note, port test fails for me due to nohup: can't detach from console: No such file or directory which is a common problem on OS X 10.10 Yosemite).

#48430 Build from source failing on OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) macports-tickets@… defect Normal base

Reported by apowers313@…, 6 days ago.

Description

I am running the OSX 10.11 beta. I did two builds from the source code today -- the first completed successfully, but after running port selfupdate and trying to install a package, I was required to install the new version of OSX 10.11 command line tools.

After wiping that installation and building from source again, I now get the following error:

configure: WARNING: GNUSTEP_SYSTEM_ROOT is not defined in your environment, preventing the use of GNUstep's Foundation library
configure: error: Could not find a working Foundation implementation

Looking at the config.log, I see that the build is dying due to parse errors in the Foundation header files:

I see that older releases have had errors with Foundation before as well, but none of the proposed xcode-select solutions seemed to fix this problem.

Has anyone else had this problem and / or any ideas of solutions or potential ways to troubleshoot it?

Looking at the log for libusb-compat reveals this:

This 404 seems likely to be the cause of the problem. The entire log file is attached.

#48389 auto-multiple-choice @1.2.1 prepare for Perl 5.22 migration macports-tickets@… enhancement Normal ports

#48387 install of kerberos5 fails in the attempt to link hostrealm_test ryandesign@… defect Normal ports

Reported by herzog@…, 13 days ago.

Description
Machine:	PowerBook G4, 15"
		PowerBook5,4
CPU-Type:	PowerPC G4 (1.1)
OS Version:     10.4.11
Xcode verson:   2.5

Situation:

	cd ~/MacPorts
	sudo port clean installed
	sudo port -svk install apple-gcc42 2>&1 | tee ./install4Gcc42Log.txt
	sudo port -svk install xemacs 2>&1 | tee ./install2XemacsLog.txt

Problem:

The attempt to install xemacs,

	sudo port install xemacs

failes since the build of one of the dependencies, kerberos5, fails (look for the string '---> Building kerberos5' in the file 'install2XemacsLog.txt'). The build process is stopped when the dynamic library

	hostrealm_test.so

is to be linked. The linker emmits a long list of undefined symbols which should be in the two libraries

	'libk5crypto.3.1.dylib'
	'libkrb5support.1.1.dylib'

which cannot be found by the linker. The linker looks for these libraries in

	/opt/local/lib

however previous commands placed them into

	/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_net_kerberos5/kerberos5/work/krb5-1.13.2-final/src/util/support/

and

#48369 qt4-mac and OS X 10.11 macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by mdeaudelin@…, 2 weeks ago.

Description

The qt4-mac port refuses to build under OS X 10.11 beta for two reasons:

  • There is an OS version check in the Portfile.
  • Qt4 refers to APIs which have been deprecated in OS X 10.6 and whose headers are no longer present in the OS X 10.11 SDK (parts of ColorSync and ATS, for example, like the CMGetProfileByAVID function).

Considering that rewriting the problematic parts of code is quite an undertaking, that Qt 4.8.7 is the last version of the series and that Qt 4 will be EOL by the end of this year, I think best approach would be to:

  • Change the version check to allow building on OS X 10.11, with a warning.
  • Build the package while setting macosx_deployment_target to 10.10.

I have attached a patch to this ticket with my proposed changes.

#48361 portpatch.tcl : record each applied patchfile in the state file (and skip already applied patches) macports-tickets@… enhancement Normal base

Reported by rjvbertin@…, 2 weeks ago.

Description

I thought I'd already submitted this proposal, but cannot seem to find it:

The state file can be used to record which patches have been applied successfully, and this information can be used to skip those patches. I find this a useful feature (inspired by the Debian build scripts) when applying an upstream update to a port that has a large source footprint and/or a large number of patches. With this mod, one can simply invoke port patch (or any subsequent build command) repeatedly until all patches apply cleanly. In its current form, one still has to revert the failed patches by hand. It should be possible to avoid this by testing each patch before applying it (using patch's --dry-run option) but I'm not sure how one would best implement that (a temporary addition to patch.pre_args?).

#48358 texlive-common uses a program from texlive-basic but does not declare a dependency on it dports@… defect Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 2 weeks ago.

Description

poppler was updated from 0.33 (library version 52) to 0.34 (library version 53).

texlive-common was then updated from 2014 to 2015 but the post-activate proc failed because texlua, provided by texlive-basic, was still linked with the old poppler library.

:info:deactivate dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libpoppler.52.dylib
:info:deactivate   Referenced from: /opt/local/bin/texlua
:info:deactivate   Reason: image not found

If texlive-common uses a program installed by texlive-basic, it should have a dependency on texlive-basic. On the other hand, that's not possible, because texlive-basic already depends on texlive-common, and that would introduce a circular dependency, which is not supported in MacPorts. So I don't know what the correct resolution to the problem is.

#48341 octave-parallel @2.2.1_0: update to 3.0.0 macports-tickets@… update Normal ports

Reported by mschamschula@…, 2 weeks ago.

Description

octave-parallel has been updated to version 3.0.0:

  • 'parcellfun' and 'pararrayfun' accept an option "CumFunc" for cumulative results.
  • Fix handling of option "UniformOutput" with option "Vectorized" in 'pararrayfun'.
  • Function 'connect()' has been renamed to 'pconnect()' since the previous name is used by the control package.
  • New functions 'netcellfun' and 'netarrayfun' for remote parallel execution.
  • New convenience function 'rfeval' for single remote function execution.
  • New function 'install_vars' to distribute named variables over the parallel cluster.
  • Better documentation of cluster functions. Start with the function documentation of 'pconnect()' and 'pserver()', and go on with the documentation of the functions referenced therein. The README.parallel file has been removed.
  • The value returned by pconnect and the variable 'sockets' held by pserver, holding the network connections, are now opaque. Indexing the connections in this value should work as with the matrix used before.
  • Connections can be based on TLS-SRP, which is now the default. New function parallel_generate_srp_data generates authorization data.
  • Parallel cluster commands hanging in system calls (e.g. trying to read data that was not sent) can be interrupted with Ctrl-C (invalidating the network connections in most cases, so that information within server memory will be lost).
  • New functions 'network_get_info' and 'network_set'.
  • Within a particular parallel network, servers are supposed to be unique now. But a server can be a part of several parallel networks, and successful connection attempts of such overlapping networks should now be possible even if initiated from different client machines or client processes at the same time.
  • Removed deprecated bw_... group of functions.

Note: added gnutls dependency and a patch to fix path to malloc.h.

The 1st such failed command was an uninstall, IIRC.

Is there any way to (auto)repair this error?

Would it be of any help if I attach the registry.db file?

#48317 wxWidgets-3.0 Build Fails on OS X 10.11 mojca@… defect Normal ports

Reported by mdeaudelin@…, 3 weeks ago.

Description

Port wxWidgets-3.0 (version 3.0.2) fails to build on OS X 10.11 since the patch made in #44524 was applied to 10.10 only (platform darwin 14).

Meanwhile, the recommended upstream patch has changed (see wxWidgets ticket 16329) and the new patch is compatible with all OS versions.

Thus, in order to fix this error, we need to:

  • remove the previous patch (patch-webview_webkit.mm.diff)
  • add the new patch (attached to this ticket)
  • update the Portfile to apply the patch regardless of system version.

The fix will be included in the upcoming wxWidgets 3.0.3, but I think the Portfile should be updated now for the benefit of users running OS X 10.11 beta.

#48284 gdb @7.9.1_0: cannot determine type of primitive global variables stuartwesterman@… defect Normal ports

Reported by rbd@…, 3 weeks ago.

Description

Hi all,

I am having problems with gdb being unable to recognize the type of primitive global variables within an executable compiled from multiple source files under MacOS Yosemite 10.10.4 and Xcode 6.4 (6E35b). The same problem occurs whether I compile with either /usr/bin/cc or /usr/bin/gcc, both of which appear to be using Apple LLVM version 6.1.0 (clang-602.0.53) based on LLVM 3.6.0svn. (I have not tried with a self-built gcc compiled from gcc source.) I first noticed this a few days ago after a MacPorts update which installed gdb 7.9.1, but the same problem occurred when I deactivated MacPorts gdb 7.9.1 and reverted to MacPorts gdb 7.7.1. I also tried building gdb 7.7.1 from GNU source and still get the same problem. (Curiously, I am fairly sure that this problem did not exist with MacPorts gdb 7.7.1 before I upgraded Xcode from 6.3 to 6.4, but I upgraded gdb at the same time from 7.7.1 to 7.9.1 and so cannot be certain of exactly what triggered this bug.)

This problem is *not* exhibited by the current MacPorts gdb-apple port, but since (i) gdb-apple is based on a relatively old gdb revision (6.3) and thus possibly of questionable future lifespan, and (ii) it seems pointless to have a 'standard' (i.e., 7.9.1) gdb port that does not work, I am very ardently hoping that this issue will be addressed in the gdb 7.9.1 port.

You can reproduce this bug by creating the following two files m0.c and m1.c:

% cat m0.c
#include <stdio.h>
float gf;
extern void func();
int main() {
        gf= 1.23;
        printf("gf: %4.2f\n", gf);
        func();
}

% cat m1.c
#include <stdio.h>
extern float gf;
void func() {
        float lf;
        lf= 4.56;
        printf("lf: %4.2f\n", lf);
}

Then compile as follows:

% cc -g -c m0.c -o m0.o
% cc -g -c m1.c -o m1.o
% cc -g -o m m0.o m1.o

When you debug with MacPorts gdb 7.9.1, the type of the global float gf is unknown to gdb from within main():

$3 = 1067282596

If instead you combine the two files m[01].c into the single file s.c with the contents

#include <stdio.h>
float gf;
int main() {
        void func();
        gf= 1.23;
        printf("gf: %4.2f\n", gf);
        func();
}

void func() {
        float lf;
        lf= 4.56;
        printf("lf: %4.2f\n", lf);
}

and compile with

% cc -o s -g s.c

then gdb works perfectly well, recognizing the type of gf and correctly printing its floating point value within either main() or func().

Naturally, the actual program I am having a problem with is much larger and really needs to be in multiple files, but I think this example shows the problem about as succinctly as possible. The problem is not limited to float variables -- a global int variable shows the same problem of unknown type.

I have noticed that when I compile the above single-file s.c code, a directory s.dSYM is created. This is supposedly done when a dsymutil symbol utility is implictly run by cc. I have read that dsymutil is *not* run when the source files are separately compiled into .o files and the latter are then linked with a separate command (as in my multi-file cc command sequence shown above). Perhaps this has some bearing on the problem?

Please note also all of the references in the gdb output above to the various missing files "/BinaryCache/coreTLS/..." when gdb first starts the executable. There is no /BinaryCache directory on my system, and as these errors seem to be related to symbol issues I wonder if this is connected to the global variable type recognition problem.

#48283 llvm-3.3: Python detection error macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by daryl@…, 3 weeks ago.

Description

I ran "sudo port upgrade outdated", and llvm-3.3 failed with this excerpt from the config.log file:

configure:12343: checking for python
configure:12361: found /opt/local/bin/python
configure:12378: result: /opt/local/bin/python
configure:12388: checking for python >= 2.5
configure:12399: result: not found
configure:12402: error: found python  (/opt/local/bin/python); required >= 2.5
See `config.log' for more details.

In fact, /opt/local/bin/python was a symlink to python 3.4. I changed it to link to python 2.7 and the upgrade succeeded.

It seems that config might be a little smarter about finding a compatible version of python (or better yet, adapting itself to python 3.) But since I've never done a port, I'm not too sure of that.
